-Gerard's POV-
My hands shook violently, I was afraid to get up. My whole form was shaking, panic taking over my body and mind at the same time. I reached for my phone from where it sat on my bedside table, dialing the ever familiar number and quietly putting it on speaker.
The phone sat on my bed, I didn't trust myself to be able to hold it and not drop it.
"Gerard? Is everything ok?" The tired voice of Frank spoke from the other line, I felt bad for waking him up.
"F-Frank, n-no I... Frank I, scared I don't know what happened but I just heard a really loud noise upstairs and the door was open and mom isn't home and Mikey... I don't know where Mikey is-"
"Gerard, take a deep breath ok?" There was shuffling from the other side of the line. I did as he told me to, still under panic mode. Salty tears where flowing from my eyes at this point in time.
"Gerard, give me a second ok?" There was a paper sound from the other end, then the opening and closing of a door. A car started up, Frank was on his way. "Tell me what happened ok?" I nodded, despite him not being able to see me.
"I-I woke up about 15 minutes ago, there was a loud crash from upstairs. I looked out to see if everything was ok, and the front door was open. Mikey is sick, I'm not sure if he's alright or not but I'm scared..." I let my voice trail off, taking a few deep breaths to keep myself from having any further breakdowns.
"Ok, stay where you are. Your in your room right?"
"Y-yeah."
"Alright, I'll be over in 5. I love you Gee, ok?"
"Y-yeah, please hurry."
"Already on it, going over the speed limit I mean." A sigh escaped my lips.
"Frank don't be reckless-"
"I'm being careful, don't worry."
Silence took over the line, the sounds of driving coming from Franks end of the call. The sound of a car pulling up took my attention, once more fear took over me.
"It's just me Gee, I'm coming in. I'll be there in a moment." He hung up, I heard foot steps and my door cracked open a bit.
"Gerard?" Franks voice was quiet, he came in and closed the door behind him and rushed over to me, wrapping me up in a tight hug.
"I'm here baby, I'll keep you safe ok? Shhh Frankie is here." I hugged him back, taking a moment to calm myself.
"We need to check on Mikey. Did you shut the front door?" Frank nodded, taking my hand in his and helping me up. He's been over here so many times that he knows the layout, he arrived at Mikeys door first.
"Mikey?" Frank knocked on the door, no answer. He repeated this action a few more times. "Mikey, hey dude your scaring us! Mikey!"
He kept hitting the door, no answer. "Mikey, I'm coming in dude." Frank opened the door, stopping dead in his tracks. I couldn't see past him, his form blocking the door way.
"Mikey...?" Franks voice was quiet, almost hesitant. He looked around the room.
"Frank, what's wrong?" No answer. "Frank-"
"He's not here. Mikey isn't here, check the rest of the house. I'll check up here, you check the main floor."
I nodded, running (and almost tripping) down the stairs. I checked each room throughly, he wasn't in the living room, kitchen, bathrooms, hallways...
My feet carried me down the steps to my room, I checked that too. Nothing, he wasn't there. Frank was waiting for me in the main room, a worried expression on his face.
"Any luck...?" He didn't have to answer that question, his expression told me already.
"No," he pulled out his phone from his pocket. "I'm going to call 911, can you turn on some lights, maybe make some coffee?" He's trying to distract me, I appreciate that. I turned on the lights in the living room and kitchen, then made us both a cup of coffee.
Frank sat on the couch, his head in his heads. There was frustration, anger, and worry radiating off of him. I sat down next to him, giving him the cup of coffee. He gladly accepted it, taking a drink from the mug.
"Police are going to be here in 5." Frank brushed his fingers through my hair, this was the first time I really got to see him.
There were dark circles under his tired eyes, his hair laid messily over his face. He took another drink from the mug, it made him look like a mid-agenda insomniac.
"I'm sorry I woke you up, Frank." He fixed me with a look, shaking his head. "Dude, no don't worry about that. All that matters to me is that your safe." His lips touched my forehead gently, they were warm.
"Thank you, Frank." We sat in silence, waiting for the police and drinking our coffee.
My mind wandered to the possibilities of what could have happened, I don't even know what the crash was.
"Wait Frank, what was the crash that I heard then?"
He took a drink, then responded. "There... there was broken glass in your brothers room, as well as a rock. I think I know what happened, once the police get here things will be ok, alright?"
He pulled me close again, setting his mug and mine on the coffee table. The doorbell interrupted the anxiety filled moment, Frank got up to answer it. He came back a few moments later, followed by two officers and explaining what had happened.
One of the officers waved a bit at me, giving me a reassuring smile. I returned the gesture, getting up to go to Franks side. "Can we see the room, sir?" The other officers said. Frank nodded, leading him up to Mikeys empty room. The other officer stayed with my padding figure.
"My name is Harper, your home is nice. Don't worry, we'll take care of this alright?" I nodded.
"I'm Gerard, thank you for coming out at such ungodly hours." He smiled and nodded.
"Trust me, there's been worse. I'm used to late calls, and it it means helping people then I don't mind it." The other officer called from the top of the stairs, Harper went up to join him and Frank.
I followed, Frank stopped me at the top of the steps. "We need to give them a moment to investigate." He hugged me close to him, kissing my cheek and rocking us slowly. It was calming, being like this with Frank.
A few minutes went by before Harper came back, leaving his partner in Mikeys room. "I'm going to have to call in back up, if you need to do anything I'd do it now. I'll call the school for you boys, it's going to be a long day. I saw you already made coffee, you're going to need it."
He went downstairs, probably going to call in backup or the school. I was still unsure as to what was going on, mostly because I was tired. Franks expression told me he knew what was going on, though. I wasn't going to ask though, it was best if I stayed calm at the moment.Song of the chapter: The Sharpest Lives
