Baby steps

**Louis' POV**
As soon as Lima disappears inside Niall immediately turns to me.
"What was that?!" I'm surprised by his harsh tone of voice but then again he gets very protective.
"I explained to Liam but-" Niall shakes his head which makes me stop talking.
"Yeah yeah, you were hugging because you found a dress but there's more than just that isn't there? You said Bella kissed you but then you were hugging and you looked quite happy about it,so what's going on?" I sigh and look at the ground.
"Niall I swear nothing is happening between Bella and me,honestly ask her if you don't believe me." Niall frowns at me but nods.
"I believe you." I sigh with relief until Niall says but.
"But, you want something to happen yes?" I bite my lip and shake my head.
"Bella loves Liam,Liam loves Bella and they're happy." Niall shakes his head and pats me on the back.
"That's not what I asked Lou,come on you can tell me." I bite my lip and think about it for a moment.
"Sure I kissed her and yeah she's really beautiful but I don't think I actually want to be with her, I like being friends and only friends." Niall smiles slightly at me and then frowns.
"Wait you said 'sure I kissed her' ?" I freeze as I realise what I said.
"Um y-yeah." Niall raises an eyebrow but shrugs his shoulders.
"So your sure you don't like Bella and won't kiss her again?" I nod straight away and Niall grins,satisfied.
"Well then let's get Liam and Bella and organise them for this date tonight."

**Liam's POV**
"I'm afraid of hurting you." Bella says as she jumps off the bench top and I look at the floor.
"Why? I mean I hurt you really badly before but you still don't wanna hurt me, why?" Bella shrugs and sits on the couch.
"Because I loved you Liam in fact I still do but it doesn't matter what you did to me,I've moved on and I can forgive you for thinking what you did." My heart sinks into my chest and I bite my quivering lip.
"Y-you've moved on?" I ask and it comes out sounding really vulnerable.
"Yeah I've decided I can let it go, now that your speaking to me I guess I can move on now knowing that you don't entirely hate me as much." I chew on my bottom lip to stop it shaking and I look at the ceiling,preparing to look like an idiot if this doesn't work out.
"W-what if I don't want y-you to move on?" Bella spins her head around to look at me and her eyes are wide open, I think I'm as shocked as she is that I actually said it.
"What so you want me to mope around for the rest of my life,thinking about someone who doesn't love me?" She ask in an annoyed tone and I know she doesn't understand so now I get to make a n even bigger fool of myself.
"No, I want you spend the rest of your life with someone who loves you more than anything in the world,someone who will call you every day just to make sure your okay,someone who thinks about how much of a dick he was for letting you go. I want you to spend the rest of your life with me." Bella blinks a few times before covering her face with her hands and bursting into tears.
"Bella look it's okay, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that just forget it." I rub her back and she pulls me into a hug which surprises me. A lot.
"Liam you don't understand but that's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me and I want to be with you I always have,but you thinking I love Ashton was stupid. I love ashton of course I do but as a friend,he was my friend Liam and this is a really big thing for me to say and feel but I love you more. I'm so sorry for everything I did but please understand." I look into Bella's misty eyes and I believe her.
"I'm sorry for assuming like that and I promise if you give me another chance I'll never let something stupid come between us again ever, I'll never let you go." Bella smile through her tears and nods her head fast.
"Bella can we take another shot at being together?" Once again her head looks like it's going to fall off since she's nodding so fast.
All of a sudden she throws her arms around my neck and kisses my cheek.
"Thank you." She whispers in my ear and I smile into her neck.
"No,thank you."
"Alright Liam let's-" Niall's voice interrupts us and we pull apart to see him grinning.
"Looks like you two made up then?" Bella nods and intertwines our fingers.
"Alright well we better be off Liam." I nod and smile at Bella.
"Okay um I'll see you later then." She frowns and pulls my hand back.
"Can you stay with me?" She asks and I squeeze her in a hug and whisper in her ear.
"Always." I oil away from the hug before following Niall,I turn around again to wink at Bella and she grins in response.
