Pen pals...
**Bella's POV**
I walk into English as slow as I can go, my teacher Mr. McCoy told us that we will be doing a pen pal assignment all year with someone from London and I'm really not looking forward to it. I reach my seat just as the bell rings and I reluctantly place my books on the desk and listen to Mr.McCoy speak.
"As you all know we are getting pen pals this year,well they're actually email pals because you will be emailing the buddy I put you with, Carl will help me hand out the papers with your buddy's name and email address and this session we will start by learning a bit about them!" I sigh and my best friend Jessica rolls her eyes.
"This is going to be fun!" She whispers sarcastically and I laugh.
"Here you go bell." Carl puts the piece of paper on my desk and I force a smile.
"Thanks, um It's Bella." Carl winks and moves to the next person,he's always had a crush on me and he can be really creepy sometimes but I generally ignore it, I unfold my piece of paper and find a name and email just like Mr. McCoy told us, mine says in cursive neat writing Liam and underneath it says liamthepayno@gmail.com, I fold it up and scrunch it into my jean pocket.
"Alright, you can take out your laptops now and email your buddy, start by saying what your name is and where you live not as in the street but tell them you live in America and then you can ask them about where live and stuff!" Mr. McCoy always sounds way too happy and while it might make his 10yr old kids more enthusiastic it just pisses us all off.
I take my laptop out of its green bag that's decorated with pictures of one direction and enter my passcode, then I go into my emails and start typing: Hello my name is Bella Smith and I live in Chicago America, I'm in my last year of high school so I'm 19. How about you?
I hit send before I change my mind and then look over at Jess who has typed a simple message:
Hi I'm Jessica Thorne I live in America and I'm your pen pal. I laugh to myself and Jess catches me looking.
"What, he said to put your name and where you live so did." Jessica is quite a smart girl but when she doesn't want to do something she'll take everything literally and it can be funny sometimes.
"Hey bell, are you doing anything tonight?" I close my eyes and hope that it's not Carl,it is.
"Sorry Carl I have to help my dad with um some stuff and my names Bella." He nods and quickly leans forward and kisses my cheek.
"Ok babe so another time?" I turn away fast and wipe the side of my cheek with the sleeve of my hoodie just before the bell rings and I grab my bag and books and run to my locker to get my lunch.
"Wasn't that just the worst class ever!" I hear an Australian accent so I turn around and come face to face with a boy I remember as Ashton.
"Yeah who are you working with?" He leans against his locker which is next to mine and frowns.
"I think his name was Niall or something, who's yours?"
"Um mines Liam." He shifts his bag to the other shoulder and looks at his feet.
"So um do you wanna come around on Friday night I've got a few mates coming around ya know just for a movie night, not not a date-" I cut off his rambling by nodding my head.
"Cool so I'll pick you up at 7:00?" I smile and nod.
"Sounds good, I'll see you round Ashton." I walk off to sit under the big oak tree that our group sits under everyday and I find Marcus is the only one there.
"Where's the rest of the gang?" He shrugs and looks sad so I ask him what's up.
"They ditched, thanks for still coming." I frown and bite into my apple.
"Why'd they ditch, Jessica was all good at English class?" He shrugs again so we sit there in silence as we eat our lunch but it's not awkward it's quite nice.

A/N: hey, ok so firstly I'd like to say that I DON'T copy other peoples ideas,this is completely from my imagination so if there's a bit that sounds like someone else's then I guess we both have the same idea,creepy but yeah. Secondly I want to say that Ashton in this book is the Ashton from 5sos if you were wondering,but Marcus isn't the you tuber. Marcus was just a name I liked.
