Weeks later:

It's 5pm here. I was in Ormoc Bay, looking at children playing around, taking pictures. I also saw families having a picnic near the Veteran's Park. The Ormoc Superdome looked so good at this time, with its name glowing with its LED lights. Ormoc was indeed a beautiful city. I did not regret celebrating Christmas here. It's a city worth falling in love to.

Hours ago, I arrived at my hotel from Cabintan, a barangay in Ormoc, where I met the children and played music for them. I also met a very energetic Lex and his mother, Mama Nene. They were very lovely people. I can't wait to visit them again.

My name is Michael Clifford. I have been dreaming of visiting Philippines one day. You see, when I was young, my dad admitted to visiting the country. He said that people were very kind and welcoming to him. The places were great as well. Since then, I knew I had to go there and experience the same thing that my dad experienced. So as early as high school, I started saving money for my trip in the Philippines. And finally, 2 years after I got my job, my boss gave us an early Christmas break, and I knew just what to do with it.

I immediately booked a ticket to Philippines and asked my parents that I'll be celebrating Christmas there. And now, here I am. I have spent my first few weeks in Batanes and now here in Ormoc, Leyte. Next few weeks, I'm bound for Bacolod before I go back home.

After my stroll in Ormoc Bay, I started having walks around the plaza. I encountered children playing in the playground, people playing volleyball and vendors selling various street foods and fruits that were actually delicious to be honest. I also encountered people who were strolling around, especially families and wonderful Christmas decorations in the streets and their colorful fountains. I also encountered Puente de la Reina, which happened to be beside the museum. Ormoc is truly a beautiful and colorful city. I wanted to go to the museum but then my stomach growled in hunger. I then smiled and decided to walk to Jollibee nearby and eat. I'll savor this walk, I thought.

My time alone in Ormoc is not bad.

I mean, what can go wrong in a beautiful place like this?
