After the mass, Flo left immediately, causing me to shout and catch up to her, "Wait up. Where you going?"

"My hotel, duh."

"Where?"

She continued walking ahead of me. She didn't answer. When I saw her turn and walk towards the entrance of Villa Hotel, I was surprised. We happen to stay in the same hotel. What a small world.

"Wait, you're here?" I smiled.

She then turned around and sighed, "Yes. Happy now?"

My smile went wider, "Beyond happy. My hotel's here too." I then approached her and motioned my arm for her to hold to, like what royalties do, "So, shall we?"

She just looked at my arm and continued to walk inside, declining my offer.

Ouch.

But I decided to walk her to her room. Even if she declined my offer earlier, at least walking her to her room would be fine. Who knows, it can be a good step towards friendship, and a gentleman move.

When she reached the door to her room, she turned, facing me, "Are you fucking following me?"

"No? I was walking you to your room. You know, it's perfectly across from mine... like aligned with each other. Look." I then pointed at my room and smiled.

"Do I look like I care?"

"Uh, you don't really care. But... you know, I'll let you know.... Just in case." I then winked at her and smile. But she didn't react nor care. She was busy opening her door until it opened and she went inside, "So, I'll see you la-"

Before I can even finish my statement, she closed the door in front of me. I admit, with her behavior, she's quite a rebel. But I didn't care. I'll just be patient with her. I know she's kind. "Okay. Bye." I said before I left and went back to my room.

I did nothing but rest in the morning. I was too tired and sleepy last night. Lunchtime when I went out and had lunch in the hotel. Afterwards, I went to the museum again and continued my tour. After the tour, I logged out before I left.

"Is it okay now?" The officer asked.

"Yeah." I smiled, "I'm very fine now. Though I'm a pirate." We then laughed, "But just three days and the eye patch is gone."

"Are you mad at her? You want me to file a blotter?"

"No need ma'am. It's no biggie. Anyways, I decided to let her tour the city with me."

"Thank God you're both friends now."

I then smiled and waved with her as I left. I then bought ice cream and donuts for snacks. I also decided to buy one for my new friend, Flo. I then went back to my hotel and went to her room to give her the snacks. I then knocked on her door.

She then opened and her face fell. Oh no, she looked pissed again, "What the hell do you want?" She asked.

"Uh... I'm here cause I brought you some donuts and ice cream." I then gave them to her and she accepted them.

"Thanks."

"Well, I was buying for myself but I realized that I should buy some for you since you know.... It sounds cool. So, no problem. Anytime." He smiled. After an awkward silence between me and Flo, I spoke again, "I should... get going." I then turned on my heels and left, going to my room when...

"Michael."

I turned to see her motioning me to come inside the room. I don't mean to be malicious but I smiled, knowing she invited me to her room to have a nice conversation.

But as we were in her hotel room, I instantly regretted accepting her offer. The room was dead silent. I didn't dare to speak. For me, speaking in her room is a crime. She may murder me. But I knew she wouldn't do that. She's kind and a good friend.

My thoughts were cut when...

"What brings you here?" She asked.

"Huh?" I said, mouth half-full with food, "Oh. Uh, I just wanna tour around. You know, break from stress and shit." Coming here to Philippines is not just a lifelong dream, but an escape route, escape from all stress and workloads.

She nodded, "Why Philippines?"

"They say people here are...cool." According to my dad.

She nodded again. Now this is a good time to talk.

"How about you? What brings you here?" I asked as she looked up.

"To get away." I mumbled.

Woah, I thought. I somehow got a glimpse of her now. My first impression of her was someone who's pissed off all the time. Now I think I get it, she's pissed off because it's her defense mechanism from something probably painful. Because from the way she said it, there were hurt in her eyes.

I decided to let her talk about it. I tried to give her a look of reassurance that I can be trusted, "From what?"

But then she glared at me and mumbled, "None of your business."

And I failed. But I decided to wait. If I want to help her about it, I'll wait until she tells me. And knowing that she needs a friend, I'll be more patient and understanding with her.

"Sorry." I mumbled, moving to another question, "So... why Philippines?"

She then shrugged and looked at me, "I... don't know."

Yes. An opportunity to be her friend. I'll use this.

I smiled at her, "At least I can help you with that tonight... You know, when we go out.... Together."

"Shoo."

"What?"

"Out."

"Why?"

She then looked at me and my donuts and ice cream, which were empty. I then looked at them and realized that I was in her room for 15 minutes already. Maybe she needed rest.

"Oh." I said as I stood up and she pushed me to the door, "Okay... I'll see you tonight?"

"Yes... Now out."

"Um, okay. Bye."

She then closed the door and I went back to my hotel room.
