Chapter 12

After a ride that took almost an hour, we finally reached Cabintan. We saw the wonderful sunrise and the very cold breeze. I smiled as I saw Flo, too preoccupied by the beauty of the place. Her reaction reminded me very well of my own reaction the first time I came here. I was in pure awestruck. I then tapped her in the shoulder, interrupting her trance.

"Heaven's Peak? Let's have breakfast there. I called Mama Nene and told her we'll be coming."

She nodded as we walked to Heaven's Peak. Heaven's Peak is like a viewing park to Alto Peak, the highest peak in the whole Leyte. Mama Nene and Lex worked and lived here for a really long time.

"Michael." My head turned to see Mama Nene from a distance as she was running towards us. I grinned and opened my arms ready for a hug.

"Mama Nene." I shouted and hugged her tight. We then let go and smiled as I turned to Flo.

"Mama, this is Flo. She's a cool friend I met in the city. Flo, this is Mama Nene. She's like my second mother here in the Philippines."

"Hi ma'am." She smiled as she waved at her, "Nice to meet you."

"Oh shush with the ma'am." She said as she hugged Flo, "Call me Mama Nene. Nice to meet you." Afterwards, she pulled away, then looked at me.

"Michael, you didn't tell me she's beautiful."

"Sinong beautiful mama?" (Who's beautiful mama?) I immediately shook my head and smiled, turned to see the man so familiar. He then shouted as he saw me, "MIGUEL!"

I then laughed as Lex ran and hugged me, "Hey Lex." I smiled as we let go of the hug and we did our handshakes. Afterwards, I turned to Flo again.

"Woah." He shouted, making Flo giggle, "Hi I'm Lex. I'm more good looking than this guy here." He then pointed at me, making me playfully smack his head and smiled.

"Nice to meet you Lex. I'm Flo."

"Flo, this is Lex. Mama Nene's son. Lex, this is Flo. My friend." I said.

"Stop lying Miguel." He said, clearly accusing Flo of being my girlfriend.

"I'm not." I replied, raising my arms. Lex then turned to Flo.

"You know, you can tell me the truth: you Miguel's girlfriend?"

She was shocked, "Um, no."

"But you're single?"

"Never had a boyfriend in my life actually."

"Oh, perfect." Lex said as he pulled her to his side and placed his arm on her shoulder. They both face in front of me, shaking my head. Oh no, what is he up to this time? "What do you see?"

"I see Michael-"

"No. I do not see Miguel. I see Jack and his Rose. I see the Prince and his Cinderella. I see Romeo and his Juliet." He said dramatically as he pointed me and then Flo.

"Um, I'm Juliet?" She smiled.

I then felt heat in my cheeks. I immediately knew that I'm blushing in embarrassment, "Okay Lex. Stop the teasing." I said as I pulled her towards me and wrapped my arm on her waist, making her laugh, "Let's eat cause I'm starving. How about you find her a date yeah?"

I then took her hand and pulled her with me going inside Mama Nene's house for breakfast.

"You should date Miguel Flo. I heard he's a hot date." Lex shouted as he laughed.

"Very funny Lex." I said, trying to fight another blush. Flo then giggled. I then turned to her and whispered, "Don't mind him about it. He's just funny that way."

"It's okay. In fact, I may consider it."

"What?" I asked, surprised at her next words.

She giggled, "Dating you."

"I may consider that too." I said as we laughed at the joke.

Yet, I don't know but I wanna consider dating her too. With her cool demeanor and her beauty, I wish it wasn't a joke.
