Chapter 20

"So... see you tonight?" I asked as I walked her to her hotel room.

"Christmas Eve?"

"Yeah. I know a place we can go to. I wanna celebrate it with you." I then thought of Albuera, Leyte. The very first place I went to after I booked a hotel. I went there since someone told me how beautiful the place is on Christmas.

"Sounds cool." She smiled.

"So see you tonight then."

"How about we wait for tonight." She shrugged, "I mean, I have my laptop. We can watch Netflix."

I then smiled, "You just want to cuddle, aren't you?"

She giggled, "What can I say? You're warm."

I then giggled, "Alright. But we'll have lunch and snacks and we'll order them at the hotel. My treat. I'm taking you on a date here, if it's alright-"

"Mikey, I would love to go on a date with you." She smiled then kissed my cheek, "So, come in." I came in and we did nothing but watch Netflix, eat, and cuddle on the bed. I also managed to bring my guitar in the room and we took turns playing it and singing each other songs. I was surprised by her voice. She sounded so good. Overall, I love this kind of date. Just me and Flo, it's not a luxurious one, but not intimate either. It's just a cute and simple date and we liked it. We spent the whole day together until late in the afternoon where we have to prepare for tonight. We ate dinner ahead and then we went out together and took a ride.

"This place happen to be the first place I've been to." I said, "And you're gonna love the place."

She smiled and nodded. Minutes later, we arrived at Albuera, Leyte. I saw her gasped at how beautiful the town is with all colorful and bright Christmas decors.

"Oh my goodness Mikey. This is magical."

"This place always looks beautiful in Christmas time." I said as I grabbed her hand, "Come on. There's more to be seen."

I then took her to different places and decorations in Albuera. We then saw places where we can get food, play, etc. and we went to each place. While walking around, we would mess with each other; dancing while walking, holding hands, laughing and singing out loud like there's no tomorrow. I've never been this happy with her. I really thought she's out of my league. But now, I just can't wait to tell Lex and Mama Nene about us.

We kept roaming around until all of a sudden, it started raining. People around us started running, looking for a place to have shelter to until the rain stops. She was about to run, looking for shelter, when I stopped her and smiled.

"Let's savor the rain Flo."

"Are you crazy Mike? We'll both catch the flu. Come on, let's take shelter until the rain stops."

"Who cares if we catch the flu Flo? Look around you. The people around us are taking shelter so the place is ours for now. And look at the time." I said as we looked at the time: seconds before midnight, before Christmas Eve, "We only have seconds left before Christmas." I then grabbed her waist and drew her closer to me. At that moment, we didn't care if we are drenched by the rain. What mattered is that I'm asking her now. I'm asking her to be my girlfriend. I whispered, "Savor this with me."

She nodded and we stayed in the same position. Only that this time, our foreheads are touching and we looked at each other and the watch at the same time. Then the countdown began.

"This is awkward and weird." She said as we both giggled.

"I don't really mind." I said as we both smiled.

"You know, I never thought we'd come this far. It's like yesterday when I sprayed pepper spray on you."

"It actually hurts." I said as we giggled.

"I'm sorry."

"It's okay." I smiled.

This is it. I'm telling her now.

"I wanna tell you something."

"What?" She asked as she looked at me.

"Of all the moments I have in my journey, the moments with you are my favorite."

"You're my favorite part of my journey too." She said and I smiled, "What do you want for Christmas?"

I smiled, "An answer."

"To what?"

"Will you be mine, Florence Pugh?"

She nodded and smiled, biting her lip. I then smiled as well.

Yes. Finally, she's mine.

I then kissed her and she kissed me back. My hands were firm on her waist while her arms snake their way to my neck. I just can't believe that Florence's my girl now and that I'm in love with a super cool girl that I met in the Philippines. This is the best Christmas ever. Afterwards, the rain stopped. We then let go and smiled then giggled.

"Merry Christmas baby girl."

"Baby girl?" She laughed and I nodded.

She then smiled and pecked my lips, "Merry Christmas cutie."
