Pairing: Santana/Brittany
I walked into the ski shop that I came to every year in the winter since I was 8. My younger sister asked me to grab her a snowboard as well because she was still at the hotel getting ready.
As I was standing in the line, which was extremely long compared to its usual length, I noticed someone.
She was gorgeous. Long, brown hair, olive skin, chocolate eyes.
"Long line eh?" I heard someone ask. My eyes met smiling brown ones and I couldn't help but smile as well.
"Yeah. They're usually not this busy." I responded to the woman.
"So you come here often then?" The, still nameless, girl asked.
"At least once a year. It's become a family tradition I guess." I shrugged and she arched an eyebrow in the sexiest way possible.
"Where's your family?"
"Oh. Well, my parents kind of stopped coming when I was 17. Then it was just me and my sister who came. She's still getting ready. The lazy ass." I joked and smiled when she laughed.
"I'm Santana." She outstretched a hand with a warm smile.
"Brittany." We shook hands and held eye contact.
"So, snowboarder or skier?" Santana finally asked.
"Snowboarder." I informed proudly. "You?"
"Skier since the ripe age of 8." She laughed.
"Hey! I've been snowboarding since I was 8!"
"Really? That's cool. I'm assuming you've been coming here since then?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "I haven't seen you before, and I always notice pretty faces, so I'm assuming you're new?" I was kind of nervous to say that because not everybody is gay. Especially not in Lima. I didn't want to scare her off. But I didn't miss the blush that appeared on Santana's cheeks and grinned to myself because, by only was this girl gorgeous, she was a lesbian! Or, at least somewhat bisexual.
"Yeah I'm new. Moved here from Colorado last year and thought I'd find a new place to ski." She shrugged. I noticed that the small smile never left her lips.
"And you chose Lima out of all places? Don't get me wrong, it's just that most people want to get out of Lima, not move in." I was shocked in all honesty.
"I have a few family members here so I decided it would be easiest to move here." We'd been talking for so long and I hadn't even noticed how close we were to it being our turn until I saw Santana scribbling something on a piece of paper.
"Here. It's my number, my turn to get my gear. See you around, Brittany." She said and turned around. But then, as if she remembered something, she turned back around and put her lips next to my ear. "Snowboarders are really hot." She whispered before turning back around with a smirk and conversing with the employee.

The remainder of that year was stressful. I always wanted to call Santana, but I never seemed to have the time.
Work was keeping me busy as hell. I rarely even got the time to have a home cooked meal. Or to visit my family.
I was really enjoying spring, though. Because, even if my crazy hours made it difficult, I love walking around and seeing the blooming flowers.
One Wednesday, when I was going through the park near my house, I saw a vaguely familiar figure sitting on a bench and reading something that I couldn't make out. I smiled to myself and walked up to her.
When I got there, I took a seat next to Santana and got her attention. "Brittany?" She asked, the smile on her face.
"Hi." I greeted sheepishly. "Sorry I haven't called. I've just been really busy with work and-"
"It's okay. I've been really busy too. I probably would've felt bad because I haven't been able to really do anything lately." She shrugged, that small smile still on her lips.
We talked for a bit until she checked the time. "Shit. Sorry, Britt. I have to go. I'm gonna be late for work." I nodded in understanding because I know how it feels.
Before she left, I handed her my phone number in case she ever found time or needed to talk.
She thanked me and went on her way.

Santana and I had been talking a few times a week since then. They were usually only 15 minute calls but they were still something.
I learned that Santana was practically a genius as well as hilarious. She had a quick wit and amazingly humble.
I was starting to like her more and more with each conversation.
Of course, every conversation we talked about meeting for lunch. But our schedules wouldn't allow it. When she was off, I was working and vice versa.
Eventually our conversations lessened until we barely talked once a week. But then, when summer came, she called me and said that she bought a boat and wanted me to go on it with her.
Of course I agreed once we found a date that would work perfectly. I was ecstatic because I was finally going to have a real meeting with this woman.
My best friend, Rachel, somehow got me to go to the beach with her two days prior to my date with Santana and I got a nasty case of third-degree sunburn.
I called her and let her know. She sounded disappointed but told me to feel better.

Santana and I hadn't talked since the summer incident. My work was crazy and I assumed hers was too.
All year was a blur and I really didn't want to celebrate Christmas. I mean, of course I did, it was just happening so fast. I decided that I'd spend Christmas alone much to my parents dismay.
I really just wanted that winter to be over. And no, I'm not a Scrooge. I just wasn't feeling it that year.
It felt like December went by in a minute. I found myself waiting for my turkey that was in the oven on December 25th. It seemed like it was the smallest turkey in the world. I didn't mind, though. It was just for me anyway.
After the turkey was done cooking, I pulled it out of the oven and was about to begin carving it. That is, before I realized I forgot something.
"Damn." I muttered to myself. I put the turkey back in the oven that wasn't on, and tugged on my boots before heading out into the snow.
I drove to the only all night store in my area and was surprised to see that it was kind of empty.
I went to the aisle and grabbed two cans of what I needed before heading to the cashier.
I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I saw the line.
There was Santana, the girl I'd been chasing all year, in the line I was about to join.
"Santana?" I said and she immediately turned about.
"Brittany! Hi." She grinned.
"Aren't you supposed to be at home with family?" I asked with a smile.
"I'm spending Christmas alone this year." She said. "This year's been crazy."
I said "Me too. But, wait, why are you-" it was then that I noticed what she was carrying. "You mean you forgot cranberries too?" I asked.
She looked at my hands and saw the cans before we both started to laugh.
We talked and I invited her over for dinner since she told me she hadn't made her turkey yet.
It was only when she entered my apartment that I though about how glad I was that I didn't miss out on Christmas that year.
A/N: Idk. I love the song Christmas Wrapping so I thought I'd make a fic. *shrug*. Of course it had to be from Brittany's POV cause she sings it on glee. But, yeah. Be expecting a lot of Christmas from me :)
