Pairing: Santana/Brittany

When Santana got the news that she made it into the Cheerios, she was ecstatic. Quinn had called her only minutes later saying that she also made it.

She insisted that they meet up to have a mini celebration. Santana told Quinn to meet her at the pond that was behind the elementary school they went to together.

"Holy freaking crap, Q!" Santana squealed when she saw her blonde friend. She wrapped her arms around Quinn's neck and squeezed. She smiled when the action was reciprocated.

"I know! I'm so excited!" They sat down on the bench closest to the pond.

"Apparently the coach is mental. That's why we start practicing a month before school. She's like, obsessed with winning or whatever." Santana explained what she had heard from a few of the older girls at the audition. "I heard that one girl actually had to be put in a full body cast because she got shot out of a cannon." She didn't really believe that one, but it was fun to scare Quinn.

"I doubt that happened. Shut up." She rolled her eyes and the latina grinned. "I wonder if Rachel tried out. She was in my gymnastics class and she was pretty good." Quinn pondered.

"Why the hell do you care about Berry getting on the team?" Santana asked, sounding more than a bit skeptical.

"Just wondering." Quinn shrugged. In all honesty, she was really interested because that meant just that much more time she's get to spend with the small diva.

"Okay?" Santana said slowly. "Anyway, this means that we'll be so popular going into high school. And we'll get the hottest guys because, duh, cheerleaders and jocks go together." The brunette gushed and Quinn smiled at her friends excitement.

Santana rarely got this happy and she almost never smiled this much. So the blonde enjoyed the time.

It finally came time for the first Cheerios practice and Quinn literally had to sit on Santana in the car because she was buzzing with excitement.

"Get. Off. Me. Quinn!" The latina shouted.

"No. You keep moving and it's annoying."

When they parked, Santana literally threw the blonde siting on her lap off of her and jumped out of the car.

"Adios Mami!" She shouted blindly behind her. Quinn chuckled as she grabbed her duffel bag and got out of the car.

"Bye, Mrs. Lopez." She said with a smile and closed the car door. "Santana! Wait up!" Quinn called. Santana halted and waiting for her to catch up before opening the doors to an empty McKinley High.

"Holy shit this is huge." Santana breathed. It was huge compared to their other school.

"Yeah, let's go. We're gonna be late." The blonde reminded and they made their way to the gym.

Sue Sylvester was already shouting commands through her megaphone at the other Cheerios. Some in uniforms, the sophomore to seniors, and some in clothing similar to Santana and Quinn, the freshmen.

When the coach yelled at them to hurry up, they ran to the locker rooms and put their bags away before joining the other girls.

Freshmen year was made a lot easier because of Cheerios. They weren't picked on. Ever. And they were popular. Santana was right about getting the hot guys. The two girls were constantly flirted with.

At the end of the year, Coach Sue surprised everybody by making Santana and Quinn co-captains to replace the two girls that were graduating that year. A few of the juniors were furious, but most of them knew it was for the best.

Those two worked best together. It was like they had some type of mental connection.

The two girls spent the first month of summer at the auditions of freshmen to join the squad. They picked out the best and made the phone calls, getting similar reactions to what theirs were the year prior.

When they went in to Sue's office the morning of the first practice for that year, she got them to sit down.

"So, girls. We have a transfer. She's a sophomore as well and sent me a video audition since she couldn't make it to the real one. I talked to her coach from her old school and apparently she's pretty amazing. Quinn's going to be running practice today since I need you to do some office work, Santana." Coach informed.

"What's her name?" Santana asked out of curiosity

"Brittany Pierce. Now, Q, go whip those miserable failures into shape. I'll join you soon. I just need to show Santana what she needs to do." Quinn nodded and headed to the gym without a word. Santana couldn't help but notice how much confidence her friend had gained in one year.

The nerdy, socially awkward, Lucy Quinn Fabray. She was gone and left the hot, confident, Quinn Fabray in her wake. She noticed how Quinn walked with more sway to her hips, making her cheerios skirt rustle.

The Latina found it funny, how much she changed.

"Okay, S. You just need to sign a few things here and there. Sort out permission forms, uniforms. It's all here. You can leave once you're done. Or come help Quinn." Sue said before leaving

Santana got to work immediately.

When she finished, she decided to go grab her duffel bag from her locker in the locker room before heading to the gym to watch practice.

As she reached into the red locker to pull out her Cheerios bag, she heard movement beside her.

A blonde, taller than Quinn, with piercing blue eyes looked at her. She had a red towel around her neck and pulled a water bottle out of her locker. She held Santana's gaze for what felt like eternity before looking away and smirking slightly and taking a drink of water.

Santana hadn't realized her jaw was open until she no longer saw blue eyes. She composed herself and pulled her duffel out the rest of the way and closed to locker.

"Hi." The girl said.

"Hello... So. You're Pierce?" She asked, trying to keep the nervousness from her voice.

"Brittany S. Pierce. That's me." The blonde replied cheerily. Santana was confused because the girl was so.. Sexy just seconds ago. But she started acting all innocent.

The Latina had no idea why her palms were all sweaty. Or why her heart felt like it was about to leap from her chest.

"And you're the bitchy Santana, I'm guessing?" She asked with a light smile.

"Did Q call me a bitch?" Santana asked back with an equal smile.

"Yeah. But you don't seem like a bitch."

"How would you know? You've barely heard me say two sentences." The brunette questioned, to which Brittany shrugged.

"You just don't seem like it."

Santana couldn't explain why her heart seemed to skip a beat at the words. The last year was spent trying to scare people and build the bitchy reputation she had. She should've been mad that Brittany didn't think she was one. But, for some reason, she was glad that the bubbly girl believed that she wasn't a bitch. She wanted to appear nice to the girl and she didn't get why.

"Then again, you're pretty enough to be a bitch." The innocent girl said before closing her locker and leaving. "Bye, San." She called happily over her shoulder.

"Bye." Santana said quietly, heart pounding at the nickname.

If only Santana knew that, that first conversation with Brittany was the start of something more than she could ever imagine.

A/N: So, started it off with Brittana cause I'm honestly still so stoked about the wedding and yeah. My take on Santana first meeting Britt in the locker room. Hope it was okay (:
