Lucy -
"One, two, three, shoot" Drew, my instructor commanded. I was sweating profusely while holding a gun for the first time ever and practicing how to shoot, technically to kill. I heaved a deep sigh and pulled the trigger making the bullet to hit the target.

"One, two, three, shoot" Drew said again, I shot the target.

"Stop" he said, I did so immediately. Drew was a senior goth, he looked so fierce and scary and I couldn't afford not obeying his instructions.

"Bring them in" he told two goths standing beside him.

I had no clue about what he said, the goths left the training room leaving Drew and I.

"What are they about to do?" I asked.

"Your shooting skills are perfect now, it's time for the second phase of your training"

"And what's the second phase of my training?"

"You're gonna actually kill with a gun under a limited period of time"

I felt like my heart was sinking in, I had done a lot of things but I've never killed someone, I just couldn't believe I was actually gonna kill.
Soon the two goths were back in the room with two supposedly alive bodies, they positioned them in front of me, a cold shiver ran down my spine, good thing their faces were covered.

"Remember what you've been thought" Drew said "aim for the chest, you have just fifteen seconds to shoot them dead. Take your position" I did as Drew said. I was ready to take innocent lives. "Your time starts now" he switched on his timer.

I became lost in my thoughts, my mind was falling into pieces, I could feel my hands trembling and I was finding it so hard to pull the trigger.

"Lucy, what the hell are you doing" Drew yelled "shoot!"

"I'm trying" I said nervously and cleaned the sweat on my forehead.

"You're an assassin, assassins aren't intimidated by death, you have eight seconds more and you can't afford to fail this test, shoot!"

Immediately, I pulled the trigger. The bodies fell on the floor in their own pool of blood, I couldn't stand the sight, I dropped the gun and ran out of the room. I just took innocent lives for nothing. Soon, I was in the hallway running with no exact direction, I kept running, running away from my dreadful action, wishing it never happened. I found myself I a dark place, I had no idea how I got there, I could hardly see, it looked like an abandoned part of the building. I finally stopped running and stood at a particular spot where I sighted a dim ray of light. I leaned on the wall and all I could see was the sight of the bodies I killed. This silent moment which I had to myself was interrupted by the two goths I saw earlier, they must have followed me.

"Are you crazy?" One of them said - a female "you just took off"

Then, the second - a male said "you're an assassin and that's what assassins do, you shouldn't be here and you must never come to this part of the fortress. It's one of the rules, if you're found here again, you'll be punished"

"Follow us" the female said "and I mean now"

I followed them without uttering a word.

"The Second World War was one of the greatest wars experienced" the history teacher said.

I was finding it hard to concentrate. I felt so restless and I felt like those I killed were watching my every move. I couldn't fully hear what the teacher was saying.

"Here's a video clip showing the massive destruction experienced during the second world war" she switched on the projector and soon the clip began to play.
