ALL BEHIND IT

Chapter Sixteen

Lucy –
Jayden and I were finally inside the building where Taylor apparently seemed to be. It was surprisingly easy getting in. We hid behind a couple of barrels. I could see a stout man pacing about and talking to a group of people assembled in front of him.

"Our mission has been finally accomplished, we just need to get these people to the laboratory for whatever stupid experiment to be performed on them and I get my money"

I was stunned hearing this. These perverts just captured people for stupid experiments – really terrifying.

"What the hell" Jayden whispered to me "look up"

I shifted my gaze up and saw cages hanging on the ceiling "shit" I muttered "we have to think of something"

I wanted to have a closer look at these people, I leaned forward and then realized they were familiar, they had the same appearance as those who attacked the fortress. I didn't realize I moved to close until I unconsciously made a couple of barrels topple over. It caused a loud thud getting their attention. I cursed under my breath.

"Shit, way to go Lucy" Jayden sighed.

"I just wanted to have a better look, sorry"

Jayden and I got up. The man which appeared to be their leader led his minions towards our direction.

He folded his arms glaring at us intensely "how the hell did you get in here?"

"It was pretty easy" I snorted

"Well, you're in the wrong place"

"I don't think so" I said moving closer to him "you've really done a good job capturing people" I looked up at the ceiling "how did you even get them up there?" I gave a curious look.

"Who the hell are you and what do you want?" he half yelled

"Easy there. I just want to have a look around. Mind showing me around?"

"Well, I'll be honored but it would be a waste of time" he raised two fingers up motioning for his minions to attack

I looked at Jayden and he nodded. Immediately we began to fight against them but the more we took them down, the more they kept coming. They were too much for us to take all by ourselves and just like I expected they got us and chained us against a wall.

For almost two hours we remained in that position, it was really tiring. I looked at Jayden, he had a blank expression on his face and didn't seem to care as much as I did. I could tell he was mad at me for getting him into so much trouble.

"Jayden" I whispered and he looked at me "I'm sorry"

He gave a small smile, I guess he wasn't mad at me like I assumed

"It's fine as long as we get out of here and won't be used for crazy experiments and just maybe I can yell at you for bringing me into this"

I chuckled "I'll find a way to get us out and then you can yell at me" I shrugged "I can take it"

"Last time you thought of a plan we ended up this way"

I bit my lip "you don't have to rub it in"

He let out a light chuckle "I have to. Anyways I was kidding about the yelling"

"Thought so too"

"What sort of meeting is being held by these perverts. The awkward man hasn't stopped talking"

"I know right" I sighed.

Suddenly, someone tapped me on the shoulder, I was startled and about to shout but my mouth was covered. I turned to face Kyra, jayden's older sister "don't say a word" she whispered.
