Chapter 17

"I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved"-Lewis Capaldi

(Asher's POV)

Annie just got off the phone. She saw me but walked straight past me, not even looking at me. What happened? Annie went and sat on the couch where everybody else was. Still, nobody was awake. She hugged her knees tightly. I walked over and sat down next to her.

Asher: "What happened? Who was it?"
Annie: "B-Billy"
Asher: "But how could he-"

She cut me off.

Annie: "It was his one free phone c-call"
Asher: "What did he say?"
Annie: "That I'm worthless."

She said, with no emotion. I could see tears in her eyes but she blinked them away.

Asher: "He used his phone call to tell you that?"
Annie: "Yup"

She rolled her eyes. I sat closer to her and grabbed her chin, making her look up at me.

Asher: " You are not worthless. You're the most amazing person I have ever met. Sure, you might be damaged. But, that doesn't mean you can't make it out of this. That doesn't mean you need to stay silenced."

She deeply looked into my eyes. I felt the urge to kiss her. No, i need to hold back. I can't.. I didn't even notice she was leaning in until i started leaning in too. I heard the others stirring in their sleep but that didn't distract me. Soon, our lips met. They were so soft. Our lips moved in sync and I smiled into the kiss.

Kenzie: ASHANNIE! IS! REAL!

We jumped away from each other, shoot. We forgot everyone was still there.

Asher: Ashannie...?
Johnny: It's a ship name for you two.

Johnny said, waking up.

Annie: Huh...

Annie looked at me and laughed. I laughed too. I put my arm around her shoulder, bringing her closer to me.

Annie: Thank you...
Asher: For what?
Annie: For telling me I'm not worthless. For helping me.
Asher: Of course.

She smiled at me. I returned the gesture and kissed her temple.

Jayden: Why is it so loud?!
Armani: Why are you screaming?!
Anna: Shut up! Im still trying to sleep!
Kenzie: Ashannie's real!

They all shot up.

Anna: Seriously! Yessssss!
Jayden: I knew it... Asher if you hurt i swear-
Armani: I swear I'll hurt you.
Asher: My intentions are good, no worries.

William: Can you guys like stop fangirling. Its literally two people.
Anna: Whatever.
Kenzie: Will you're just jealous!
Will: Why would i be jealous?
Johnny: Cause you don't have Anna!

Johnny said tauntingly. Anna's face went a bright red. Annie then burst out laughing.

Annie: Anna, y-your face!

She kept laughing, which made me laugh.

W&Anna: Whatever!

Jayden: Attitude much?

We all were laughing and having a good time. We were still staying with Annie since she had plenty of rooms in her house. I took Annie upstairs and put her into her bed.

Annie: Can you s-stay..?

She was very loopy when she was tired. But it was cute.

Asher: Of course.

I got into her bed and pulled the covers over us. Annie then moved to lay on top of me. She snuggled her face in my neck and fell asleep. A smile was plastered on my face before darkness took over.
