"Hey, have you heard? The company's under new management now." The (e/c) eyed young woman shrugged her shoulders, showing no interest with the topic being mentioned as she took a long sip on her sugar-free espresso. Her co-worker puffed out a huff while eyeing the uninterested broad in front of him.

"Would you really want everything to be headed by one of those good for nothing billionaires again? Mr. Ikoma was a good boss, you know."

The lights in their surprisingly convenient office were a little dim but was definitely calming for the eyes of the workers. (Y/N) and Elijah, her younger co-worker, were having their break in the snack lounge of the building.

"I don't really mind.. as long as we got paid and I get my dough." Elijah sighed in disbelief with the (h/c)haired's statement, pursing his lips and rolling his eyes in the process. Their attentions were immediately caught by a sudden sound that came from the PA system. The other employees looked up from their personal computers one by one as the speaker on the other line started talking.

"Please ready yourselves for the introductory program that will be held in the lobby. This will give everybody the opportunity to welcome the new owner of the company, Mr. Daisuke Kambe."

(Y/N) choked on her drink, the warm liquid  immediately scratching the fragility of her throat. Elijah jolted from her reaction as he rushed over to get his friend a glass of water.

'You've got to be kidding me.'

•••

A huge amount of air blew right out of her nose as she crossed her arms in between her chest, looking around the spacious office room. She never noticed how pristine the place was until now and it was quite surprising.

The ambient temperature was very relaxing, pushing the young woman to comfortably lounge on the seat in front of the desk. Her lips etched into a smile as her fingers brushed against the ticklish case of the throw pillow.

"Hey, aren't you like a detective or something? Why suddenly buy this company?" She directly asked after watching the man sit on his office chair. Daisuke breathed out a relaxed sigh as he rested his back against the comfort of the seat before looking back towards the (h/c) haired girl who cleared her throat out of the blue and continued her sentence.

"I'm sorry for the sudden outburst. It was very unprofessional of me. Is there a task that you need me to do, sir?"

"I wanted someone to write my case reports for me." Her eyes blinked in great confusion as she found herself absentmindedly staring at the man. She wanted to point out the things that sounded  very much idiotic in his sentence but she chose to save her saliva to herself.

"I want you to be my personal writer."

Now before the reactions flood in, the sleepy author swears that this will not be like some very cliche mature-themed CEO stories. She's just messing with the main character's life because why not? That's what authors do.

(Y/N) raised her eyebrow, squinting her eyes into slits of disapproval. "I don't understand any of this. I reckon it's not inclined with my job here in the company." One side of Daisuke's perfectly defined lips curled into a small smile as he fixed his composure.

"It isn't. But I read in your resume that you had a passion for writing. If you accept the offer, I ensure you your annual salary will be tripled."

The widening of her eyes and quickened tapping of her fingers against her knees was enough for Daisuke to know what her response was going to be.
