[chapter's ost]

"This is actually good, Haru! I didn't know that you can cook. I always thought that the ones you bring me at home were store-bought ones. I actually imagine you burning your house whenever you attempt to cook a cup noodle."

(Y/N) snickered against the spoon that was barely touching her cheek, its cold metallic texture piercing through the dozens of muscles surrounding her face. Her eyes tailed the figure of the adult male who paced back and forth from his kitchen to the dining table to put on the pots of dishes that he prepared.

Haru huffed rebelliously in regards to her statement, patting both of his wet palms on his apron to dry it in the process. He plopped his self on the vacant seat right across the (h/c) haired girl who was now hoggishly indulging herself with the soup.

"I'll take that as a compliment, thank you."

The young woman scrunched her nose at this while sipping on the Chankonabe. It was so freshly cooked that she could still smell the baby bok choy's fragrance lingering on its steam. The burning stew satisfyingly lingered down her throat which undeniably made her giddy. She stabbed her chop stick on one of the pieces of Yakitori before dipping it on the famous teriyaki sauce.

Both occasionally exchanged some small talks with each other since (Y/N) was too busy munching on the food that Haru was spoiling her with. The brunette just lightly laughed at this, his insides fluttering in complete bliss upon seeing the female in front of him enjoying his cooking.

He shifted his sight to the chicken standing just behind her who was also busy plucking on the seasoned onigiri that he specially prepared just for the fowl. Melvin wasn't squawking aggressively, so he took it as a sign that it was taking a liking on his dish.

The dinner lasted for half an hour since (Y/N), believe it or not, took the liberty to finish all the viands that were on the table. It was hard for Haru to comprehend at first, but knowing the (h/c)-nette and her unexplainable infinitely-spaced stomach, everything made sense to him.

After this, the young woman proceeded to the living room since Haru insisted that he will be the one to wash the dishes because she was a guest. She wasn't complaining tho, it was a good opportunity for her to radiate her laziness in a living room that was not owned by hers. There were only a few plates to clean since it was just the two of them at his apartment.

To explain why she was currently chilling in the male's pad, it was because she was invited over  for them to play on the new game console that the police department gave to the brunette as a birthday gift. An opportunity like this is not always happening that's why she grabbed it with no hesitations.

Free games + Free Food = Happy (Y/N)

It took Haru just a couple of minutes to finish the cleaning. He walked out of his kitchen and whirred directly to his living room where he caught the female promptly sitting on his beige sofa while watching the commercial for hog feeds with Melvin on her lap. This persuaded him to make his way towards her and sit on the couch as well.

"What's up, hubby?" (Y/N) grinned at the teasing nickname that she spontaneously invented, making the poor boy's face to rise in temperature rapidly. Using her index finger and her thumb, she squished both of his cheeks with it.

"Thanks for the meal! It was great!" She added, the beam on her face growing wider while some air desperately escaped from her puny nostrils for stifling a laugh. The brunette furrowed his eyebrows as he swatted the hold that she had on his face, a playful scowl plastering on it afterwards

"Your hands are very greasy! You did not even care to wash it after we ate?" (Y/N) pouted with his statement as she took a moment to look at her grimy fingers. She inched it closer to her before sniffing on it, frowning in disappointment upon realizing that the stench from the oil of the dishes were still clinging on her nails.

"Yikes... I'll clean this right away. We'll start playing immediately once I'm done, okay?" She gently took Melvin off from her legs and placed him on the comfort of the couch. Her legs then directed her body to the kitchen in order for her to do what it is that she was planning to do.

"Hey, Melvin." Haru's amber irises landed on the rooster's beady eyes and it was once again making him uncomfortable. The fowl seemed to be staring directly into his soul that's why, without a word, he found his self leaving the living room and trailing after the (h/c)-nette.

Noticing someone entering the area, (Y/N) tilted her head to the side without taking her hands away from the running water. A small smile climbed silently unto her lips as she looked back at the basin before grabbing the soap.

"Wow.. you're still wearing your apron. Are you doing that on purpose or you're just being a husband material?"

The small room was bombarded with childish giggles as the young woman find her jokes entertaining when all it really did was to make Haru even more bashful than before. He puffed out a huff while fumbling on the apron to take it off of him.

"Yeah, whatever you say." The flustered boy mumbled, his fingers scratching his weakened fragile cheeks in the process.

"Ya' know, hubby is a nickname destined for you!" (Y/N) added as she finally turned the faucet off since all the bubbles from the soap were already rinsed off.

"I bet you'll make a great husband! The only thing that's lacking is a wife." She lightheartedly chuckled with her statement, her palms brushing against the soft fabric which was conveniently hanging on the rack.

Haru shuffled silently on his current stance. He swore he just heard his heart beating ever so loudly as his blood traveled swiftly on his veins. In his futile attempts to cover up the embarrassment that he was feeling, he balled his hand into a fist before coughing on it.

"If.. that's the case..." (Y/N) was caught off-guard after feeling a hand on the small of her back. It was late for her to understand anything as she was already facing the brunette, the tip of their noses now on the verge of touching each other.

Haru's golden-hued orbs strained on her reaction which was evidently confused on the current situation she hurled herself into. He entwined the fingers of his free hand on hers, leaning closer to her ear and whispered the continuation of his sentence which immediately made the young woman's mind halt its processing.

"...will.. will you marry me, then?"
