The room was a hue of blank white.
Different clinking sounds of laboratory apparatuses entered the male's ear, the silence immediately dissolving into the abyss. He placed his palm on the metallic tables where the freezing temperature tortured his senses abruptly.
Daisuke has been in and out of this place for almost six years now yet for some reason, he will never get rid of the eerie feeling of nervousness that subsides in him every time he enters the said area. His hearing heightened as he could clearly detect footsteps that were not his own which were coming closer towards him.
"Good evening, Mr. Kambe. Thank you for giving us a visit again." The ravenette does not need to listen to the adult woman's greeting since this has been the same set of words that he has been receiving from the staff every single night. He simply nodded with this before politely asking for any updates on the certain thing that he pays them to do.
In a swift motion, his heart palpitated upon seeing the red-head female grinned. He wasn't sure on what she was about to say but he hopes that it would be some actual progress. There was some busy shuffling in the background which was produced by the other medical and laboratory team members who were cleaning the apparatuses used.
That must be a good sign, right?
"The cure has been completed! The bydureon was successfully modified along with the DPP-4."
That was it. Those were the set of letter that he has been wanting to listen to for more than half a decade. Although he has invested so much time, money and effort, everything felt so worth it when he could actually feel his own heart palpitating against his fragile rib cage. No word could express how euphoric he is that even the woman in front of him could actually tell.
"That's great news. Is it ready for intake?" He tried so hard to fix his composure as he could sense his knees trembling in excitement. The female opened a drawer where she fished out a pristine destructible bottle with a liquid content in it and handed it gently over to him.
"It is. To guarantee the expansion of its effect, you must add a consumable DNA of a non-carrier of the disease right before giving the medication to the person who is currently experiencing the sickness. It can be the sweat or the saliva of a non-carrier."
Daisuke lightly beamed, an unexplainable feeling of utter bliss radiating his whole expression. The head of the medical staff was liking this reaction for she has never seen this young man look this satisfied ever since he hired them to make this infallible medicine.
"Thank you... thank you so much. You and the team just.. just reassured the safety of my... my world." His words were almost incoherently mumbled due to his fingers fidgeting on the small container that he was holding. Just as he was about to turn around, the woman called out to him one last time.
