chapter twenty-nine

(Y/N) excitedly peeked on the paper bag that she was bringing with her, eyeing on the wheat bread inside. It was very generous of the resort to give its tenants a chance to feed the ducks that were lingering around on their pond.
An overwhelmed grin took over her face as she skipped her way to the said place where it was manifested with the enchanting Swedish Blue ducks. The slightly damp dirt got stuck on her sneakers as the piercing sunlight pierced through the ground.
Daisuke gripped on the golf club that he was holding, fixing his white-hued pants with his free hand in the process. It was quite a beautiful day since the weather was beyond perfect. Currently, he was in the resort's golf course with some of the owners from the other companies.
While the other men were chatting about random statistics that he was too occupied to listen to, his sight was sternly strained on the hole a few yards away from him. He silently calculated the angle and the force that he will apply on his swinging to ensure the shooting of the mundane golf ball.
He elevated his arm on his desired position but was stopped when someone gently patted his shoulder in a formal way. His head turned to the doer, a senior male with a concerned look welcoming his view.
"Mr. Kambe, may I interrupt your game for a bit?" The ravenette immediately recognized the friendly chubby man as the CEO of a famous brand name back in Japan. He carefully propped the golf club on the ground as he signed the new comer to continue what it was that he's about to say.
"It seems like your assistant is having a trouble over there." The male pointed towards the pond a couple of meters away from the golf course where a certain person is now currently being attacked by a dozen of wild ducks.
Daisuke's body jolted in a mix of disbelief and worry. Without saying a word, he rushed towards the crouching woman who had her hands on her head in desperate attempt to stop the waterfowl from pecking on her face. He took out his vest before using it to scare away the ducks from her to which he was successful.
(Y/N) hesitantly looked up to catch the ravenette sighing in relief. An embarrassed grin climbed up to her lips while awkwardly scratching her arm. It was a good thing that the businessmen that paraded the golf course were busy chitchatting with each other or else the event that she got herself into would definitely make a scene.
"I suppose I should ask you now on how.. that happened." The young woman gingerly stood up with the male's statement, dusting herself afterwards. She cleared her throat as she bit the inside of her cheeks while shifting her (e/c) orbs to directly glance at his ice-blue ones.
She dug deeper into her thoughts to find the correct response on his question, recalling that the ducks were enraged when she started to chow down on the wheat bread that was supposed to be theirs.
