Chapter 16

Kaitlin's POV

Right when we step outside it was pouring rain.

"Well. I guess that rules out the park. what about a movie?" Ross says.

"I have an even better idea!" I say.

"What?" He says.

"A play!!! I hear there's a play tonight at 8:00 called A Christmas story! Since Christmas is coming soon" i say.

"Sounds fun!! Where at?" Ross asks.

"Downtown. at City Stage" i say.

"Okay! Cool!" He says.

"Yep! Do you think your parents could babysit?" i ask.

"Sure! I'll call them right now and ask" he says.

"Okay" I say.

I watch Ross dial his parents phone number then put the phone on speaker phone.

Ross: mom?
Stormie: what's up sweetie?
Ross: Kaitlin and I want to go see a play tonight at 8:00. do you think you can babysit Rolan and Mya for awhile?
Stormie: sure! What time are you dropping them off?

Ross looks at me. I shrug my shoulders then mouth 'around 7:00'
Ross nods
Ross: around 7?
Stormie: sounds good! See you all then!
Ross: k bye mom
Stormie: bye. I love you

"I love you too mom" ross says embarrassed and hanging up the phone call.

I check my phone. it was already noon. we go back inside and get ready to go get some brunch.

We go to this new breakfast restaurant
About 20 minutes away.

Once we get there we're immediately seated by a really nice, young waiter named David.

"So.. What do you two want to drink?" David asks.

"I'd like a sweet tea please" Ross says.

"Okay. sweet tea for the gentleman. what about the lady?" David says politely looking at me.

"I would like a sprite. Please" i say.

"Mmk one sweet tea and one sprite coming right up" he says.

We both smile as he walks away.

A few minutes later the waiter comes back with our drinks.

"Thank you" Ross and I both say at the same time.

"Haha JINX" we both say again.

We sip our drinks for awhile and talk about random things. like:

Why is the sky blue?

How much do elephants weigh?

Why did the inventor of the word 'knife' put a random 'k' in front of the word?
Etc.

Until our waiter comes back to take our order.

After we order, eat, and pay we leave and go home.

We watch a few movies to pass time.
