"Get in the car, Olivia." I glared at Jeremiah, who was to my distaste, still holding Jacob.
"Like hell, I will." Jeremiah shook his head in disapproval.
"Your worst flaw is one that I can remove so easily." I held Jason closer, knowing that if I didn't remind myself he was here, I would beat Jeremiah to death. "A little shocks of energy and you will never cuss again. We can start whenever you want." Jacob seemed oddly interested in his father's tie and started pulling from it. Jeremiah's attention to Jacob gave him an idea. "Get in the car or I will make sure you never see Jacob again."
I was about to open my mouth to respond, but he beat me to it. "If you cuss, I'll close this door and drive away." I looked at Jeremiah with pure hatred in my eyes and got inside the passenger seat.
I buckled myself in and placed Jason as safely as possible on my lap. "Hold Jacob. I can't drive while he pulls my tie." He passed me my son as if he was a small tool in his plan with no use anymore.
"You are going to be sent to Arkham. You are only a man Jeremiah. There is always someone better than you." Jeremiah took his eyes off the road to stare at me.
"What if I'm the worst there is?" I turned my head to look at him.
"What do you mean?" Jeremiah turned his gaze back to the road.
"That's the joke, 'Via, I don't want to be the best, I want to be the worst." I scrunched my eyebrows, sick of his stupid double messages.
"If this' a stupid mind game, I don't wanna do it." Jeremiah laughed wholeheartedly.
"Well, you see, I don't want to be Bruce's best friend. I want to be his worst nightmare." He sounded proud of his plan.
"You are already my worst nightmare, isn't that enough?" Jeremiah's skin around his knuckles turned red from gripping the steering wheel.
"Why do you have such a distaste towards me?" I scoffed. "I wave you everything you could have wanted." Jeremiah's voice became sad, but I knew better than to pity him. "Unconditional love, dresses, jewels, everything a woman would want. I even gifted you with children! And you repay me like this." I couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth.
"Let's see, where should I start. Oh I know, you become fucking insane, you decide to blow up Gotham Tower, killing at least a hundred people. After that, you destroy the bridges with your stupid bombs, killing also, hundreds of people. You then enslave children, fucking children, to dig a tunnel, because of your teenage obsession with Bruce Wayne. I forgot you decide to shoot my friend, causing her to be immobile if it wasn't for Ivy." I took a breath after my rant. "So I do think I deserve to hate you."
Jeremiah's voice broke. "I've done all that for us, for our family. Why can't you see that?" I hugged both boys closer to my chest.
"You only think about you. If you loved me, you would have fought the gas, just like I have done." I looked down at Jason and Jacob, kissing their foreheads.
"What are you talking about?" I looked straight into the one eye I could see.
"Why do you think your gas failed on me?" His eyes were still glued to the road, but I knew he was desperate for my answer. "I realized, that if I decided to have your kind of fun, I would end up in Arkham, in a cell beside yours." He seemed to like that idea. "What you never considered was that we have children. Two small lives that fully depend on us, but you forgot. If you and I get locked inside of Arkham, our sons will grow up with no parents." Jeremiah had seemed to have lost hope on me joining his plans. "And that, 'Miah, that is really messed up." There was a long silence. I could tell he was thinking.
