Elsa's sister knocked on her bedroom door in a pattern. "Elsa?" She asked in a high pitched tone. "Do you wanna build a snow man? Come on lets go and play!" Anna sang alone, her young soprano voice echoing through the empty hallway and Elsa's room. Elsa heard her lean against the door. "I never see you anymore..." Her sisters eye appeared under the door. "Come out the door, it's like you've gone away!"

Anna walked away, mumbling to herself. Elsa sighed, and wiped her eyes. Her poor sister didn't remember her powers, her dangerous powers. If only she understood. Elsa looked up from her hands when she heard her sisters voice again. "It doesn't have to be a snowman." Anna's muffled voice said into the lock of the door. "Go away Anna..." She said sadly. "Okay bye..." Anna said and walked away.

Elsa jumped back from her window as the ice spread up it. All she wanted was to look outside. She decided to tell her father. Elsa tiptoed quietly past her sisters silent room. She guessed Anna was sleeping. "Dad?" Elsa asked when she reached her parents open bedroom door. Her father came into view. "Yes Elsa?" He asked softly, and led her into the room, closing the door quietly. A fire burned in the fireplace, and Elsa's mother was no where to be seen.

It was growing dark outside. "I'm scared...I touched my window seal and ice spread everywhere." She stated, looking at her father's aged face. "Ah I'm glad you told me Elsa..." He walked over to his desk, and opened a drawer. He pulled out a pair of silky gloves. He got on one knee in front of her. "The gloves with help." Elsa's father said. "See?"The eight year old looked into her fathers eyes. "Conceal it," He said. "Don't feel it," She recited. "Don't let it show."

Elsa said in unison with Papa. He nodded, a small smile upon his lips. "I love you dad..." She whispered and hugged him. He hugged her back, obviously not afraid of her. "Dad, why aren't you afraid of me?" She asked, and his face softened. "You're not dangerous Elsa, your mother and I just don't want people to hurt you, use you for power and control..." Elsa's eyes widened, her heart racing. "Dad...what if I hurt you and mom?" She asked, tears coming to her eyes.

He gripped her tightly. "Oh Elsa, you could never hurt us..." Elsa looked up and saw her mother, smiling in the doorway. "Your sister is sleeping..." She whispered and walked over. Queen Iduna lowered onto her knees, and joined the hug. "We love you so much Elsa..." Her mother whispered. Elsa cuddled into her parents arms and closed her eyes.

A giggle echoed through the hallway and into Elsa's room. Anna knocked on the door in the same rhythm as normal. "Do you wanna build a snowman?" She said happily. Elsa sighed. "No Anna..." Hours passed and Elsa watched out her window carelessly, and bored. Elsa was crying into her hands when her mother came into the room.

Her father followed. "Elsa, what's wrong?" Her mother asked and sat down on Elsa's bed. Her father placed his hand on her arm, which made her jump back. "I-I can't control it!" She cried and leaned against her shut door. Her mother stood up and came closer. Elsa turned around to see ice growing on her door and the surrounding wall. She turned towards her parents, her hands shaking. "I'm scared...It's getting stronger!"

She exclaimed, fear in her eyes. She showed her hands to them. Her father reached for her. "Getting upset will only make it worse." He said calmly. "Calm down." He reached out. "Don't touch me!" Elsa yelled, her mothers hands flew to her mouth. "Please, I don't want to hurt you..." Her mother moved forward, placing a hand on the kings shoulder. "I'm sorry Elsa..." She whispered and she left the room, her mother sighing sadly as she exited.

Elsa's father walked up to her, embracing the cold girl. She pushed him away. Even when it was just the two of them, her father still seemed like a king. It wasn't just that he always dressed the part, in his uniform with a multitude of medals, and with the Arendelle crest hanging from his neck. Whether he was speaking in a foreign dignitary or thanking one of the castle workers, his manner always seemed royal.
