the school year was so close to over. jack was desperately missing his little sister. he wanted the year to end so he could get home to her and hug her all summer. but no one at this school knew that.

zach was finally back in the halls, attending classes. no teachers spoke a word of why he was away, or welcoming him back. they acted as if he had never disappeared.

many students were suspicious, coming up with theory after theory. the whispers made their way to the hufflepuff, causing him to feel somewhat uneasy. especially since he knows that his gift was rare and thought to be inferior and evil.

he worried if his fellow students discovered the truth, would people be after him? try to kill him as they did with those like him many many years ago?

luckily no one knew. they didn't know the real truth. and he was intent to keep it that way.

daniel was torn between two sides of his mind. one side told him he needed to try and talk with jack again, find out what's going on with him. but the other part... it's telling him not to engage with the slytherin. that side is has more strength.

jonah and tate have grown quite close. over tate desperately attempting to help jonah with their transfiguration homework. the gryffindor having difficulty understanding the subject.

corbyn and christina had told their friends they were together. which, not surprisingly, all their friends were geeking out over the fact.

kay and gabriela were simply going through school. they were content with exploring hogsmeade at every opportunity present.

"daniel? you okay?" zach asked the gryffindor boy, "hm?" he had been completely zoned out, unaware of events surrounding him.

"you seem distracted. and kind of... on edge..?" the younger hufflepuff wondered. "o-oh, no. i'm fine don't worry." daniel smiled, shaking his head and turning back to his school work. "okay then."

the group was sat in the great hall, simply talking and writing notes from their classes. preparing for the end of year exams. zach looked up, casting his eyes over to a separate table. seeing cedric looking at him with a small fond smile.

the older hufflepuff boy cocked his head to the side, suggesting they meet out in the hallway. zach blushed lightly, beginning to pack up his belongings. "i'll see you lot later."

"where you going?" jonah wondered, followed by a giggle from christina. "off to see your boyfriend huh?" she teased. "you have a boyfriend?!" daniel and jonah reacted, eyes wide. "not exactly... i– i'll see you later."

zach gently took his lower lip between his teeth and left the great hall. joining up with cedric in the corridor as they walked toward the astronomy tower. "i wanted to know how you're feeling. are you alright?" cedric asked.

"w-what? i– h-how did you find out?" zach panicked. cedric knew he could transform? how? "it's uh.. it's the end of the year? exams? it's stressful and i know you're not exactly one with stress so..."

"do you think he's okay?" corbyn wondered as the seven had continued working in the great hall. "yeah, he's probably stressed about exams. cant blame him, they're terrifying!" kay exclaimed. "i meant about you know... the dragon thing."

"oh... yeah, i'm sure he's fine. he's got us and he's got professor lupin, he's gonna be fine."
