zach tossed and turned in his sleep before he finally shot awake. his body was shaking, he felt tears dripping down his cheeks.

surprisingly, he hadn't woken anyone in his dorm room. hunter, evan, and riley were still all fast asleep.

checking the small alarm clock he had next to his bed, seeing it was 3:26 in the morning, zach didn't know what to do.

he didn't want to wake anyone, but after the dream– nay, nightmare, he just woke up from. he didn't want to be alone.

so he reached over to his bedside table and grabbed his necklace. "i should really start wearing it to bed too..." zach whispered to himself.

he put the necklace on his body, letting the charmed pendant calm him down as he took in the scent.

mum.

he smelt his mother. taking another breath of the scent, he not only smelt his mum this time, but reese too. which was true. he missed his baby sister dearly.

as the pendant calmed him down, helped him feel at ease, he drifted back to sleep. this time, falling into a nice, happy dream.

daniel shot awake, his loud gasp waking jonah too. "dani? you okay?" he asked his friend, "y-yeah, sorry. didn't mean to wake you." daniel said in reply.

"what happened?" jonah wondered, refusing to go back to sleep while daniel was evidently panting from fear. "bad dream, sorry. it's nothing, i'll be fine."

"do you want to talk about it?" daniel shook his head, "no, no don't worry, i'll be fine. go back to sleep."

and with that, daniel layed his head back down on his pillow and fell asleep once again.

divination. corbyn wasn't sure if he found it interesting or weird. he's heard stories about when his parents took the class.

he sat in the class with christina, the table next to them sat daniel and jonah. behind those two were zach and kay, gabriela and tate a table over from them. harry and ron next to the hufflepuff and ravenclaw.

today they were reading tea leaves. something that seemed boring to corbyn. or more so... old.

his mother taught him to read tea leaves when he was seven. she thought it was fascinating and therefore she taught her children.

he watched as professor trelawney got ron to read harry's tea cup. when she took a look herself, she began to freak. that's when corbyn began to take an interest.

"what's the grin?" a student asks, "not the grin, idiot, the grim." another responded. "then what's the grim?"

"it takes the form of a giant black dog. it's one of the darkest omens in our world. an omen of death." corbyn explained.

"well that's bloody lovely." zach mumbled, mainly to himself. his comment drew a giggle from kay, sharing a smile as he knew she had been thinking the exact same as him.

divination continued on for what felt like forever, but now they were finally dismissed. moving on to their next class, care of magical creatures with hagrid. a class the group of friends were estatic for. they walked down to his hut to meet him, bursting with bright smiles.

hagrid led the class into the forest for the lesson; which got the friends further excited for what he had. when they came to see the creature, zach, daniel, kay and jonah were in amazement. "what is it?" daniel asked in awe, "that's a hippogriff! i can't believe hagrid has one!" corbyn gushed, "hippogriff's are bloody beautiful." zach spoke in almost a whisper. the friends giggled, but they all agreed.

when hagrid asked who wanted to go pet him, everyone in the class took a step back. as much as the friend group thought the hippogriff was beautiful, they weren't sure they wanted to go pet it. especially after hagrid said they can be a little vicious if they feel they're under attack.

harry was the only one who hadn't stepped back, landing him in going to pet the creature. there were a few moments when the friends were worried, but harry successfully approached him. then hagrid put him on buckbeak's back to go for a ride.

they took off, leaving them in amazement. "i want one." daniel mumbled, earning laughs from the boys.

after hagrid's class, the friend group sat in the great hall to eat a bit of lunch and study. well, tate and corbyn were studying, the others were goofing off more than reviewing their work. "oh you lot are evil! i did not say that!" jonah denied as the others laughed.

although the good mood was diminished quickly when jack and draco approached, "awe, look at the little fairy. he's in fairy heaven isn't he? surrounded by all these lads!" zach gulped at draco's words. he hadn't told his friends about what he had been feeling, so how did jack and draco know?

"shove off! don't talk to him like that!" kay stood up for him. "or what?" jack smirked, "or i'll knock your teeth into your brain." daniel said in a stone cold expression. "oh really? you'd hit me? i'd like to see you try." jack and draco scoffed before walking off. "i'm gonna kill him." daniel muttered.

"no you're not." zach shook his head, "zach you can't be serious! they're bullying you! that's not okay, daniel's gonna kill him and i'm gonna help." corbyn was shocked that zach said no. "theyre terrorizing you and you don't want to do anything? what they're saying is wrong and terrible." christina then chimes in.

zach took a deep breath and finally let himself say it. "what if it's not." he said quickly, "what?" the brunette ravenclaw furrowed her brow, "what if they're not wrong?" daniel had an idea of what zach was saying, but he wasn't sure, "zach?"

"zach are you..." he trailed off, watching as the hufflepuff nodded, whispering a 'yeah'. "why didn't you tell us?" gabriela asked him in a sweet voice, "i didn't really know how i guess." he shrugged, looking down to his lap. that is, until corbyn grabbed him in a hug, "we love you zach, no matter what. you know that, right?"

the boy smiled at his friends, hugging the blonde back, "yeah i know. don't worry i do." christina then spoke up, "well you know what this means... we get to talk about cute boys together!" they all giggled, "and we are so going to find you a cute lad to go out with!!" kay grinned.
