Breakaway (Edited Version)

Awake

Luna's POV

I started to panic. From my side I could hear a loud beeping, that started to grow quicker. It was dark in here and I could barely make out the window and the little multicolored lights.

Then, someone flips a switch and I blink a few times as I try to adjust to the sudden bright light.

"Luna! You're awake," I hear someone say and I turn to see a two-tailed light orange fox next to my bed.

It's been too long since I used his name, I nearly forgot. "Tails?" I ask.

"Yeah, it's me," he says as he sits down in the chair by the bed. "Are you going to be ok? Do you need anything?"

"Yeah... I think so," now that was a total lie. "But can I have some water?"

He nods, "Sure, I'll be right back."

Once he's gone, I fall back down on the pillow. Why would I agree to something like that!? Because, I don't want anyone hurt. That'll probably still happen.

I am so stupid.

A week, he said. I have one week to really make this decision. And Mephiles would really come and hurt everybody if I didn't corporate.

Why am I so important? I'm just some kid -well teenager, but that's not the point- and I don't even have any sort of abilities or anything. Why does Mephiles want me, when there is so many others out there who are better then I am.

I start to look around, desperately trying to forget about it. As far as I know, I've never really been in a hospital. All the walls where white. In fact, everything is white. The only other colors was the different brightly colored lights coming from the machines that I'm hooked up to.

Suddenly, I hear a noise. I turn to the door to see Tails coming back in with a glass of water, and some strange person fallowing him. It was a brown dog in a white doctor's outfit -I'm assuming- and he was carrying a clipboard.

He smiles at me, but he doesn't say a word as Tails gives me the water. I drink it till there wasn't anything left in the glass. When I was done, the dog started to talk.

"Hello Luna, I'm Dr. Friday. I just came to see if you are ok," he says and I nod.

"I'm fine," I say.

"Does anything hurt? Anything at all?" asks Dr. Friday.

"Well, my foot kind of aches. And I feel stiff. Other then that, I feel fine," I say.

He nods. "Ok. How much do you remember? I'm just checking to see if you have any memory lost."

"I remember everything..." I say slowly.

"I trust you. But what's your last memory?" he asks. "Before you passed out."

I sigh, "I remember Tails, Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Knuckles come and rescue me." that's all I said, and all I would say. I didn't really want to talk about all that had happened.

Dr. Friday nods. "That's what happened, right Miles?" Tails nods, "That's good. Now, I'll say this now before any of your friends get here. You've... been in a coma."

My turn to nod, "I know and I think it's been a few weeks."

Both Dr. Friday's and Tails eyes widen. "How did you know?" Tails asks.

"I've been in a dream world for two weeks. And before I woke up... Someone had told me that I had been asleep and it was all a dream," wow, that was amazing. Told the truth but didn't have to say it all or make it look bad.
