Leo's POV

I paced the dojo, rubbing my temples. Why, why, why?

We were seen. Sure, there was no recording as far as I know, but what if there was?‌ And what if that girl got hurt?‌ It wouldn't fare well with‌ Sensei.

The guys still didn't know about it yet. I kept her deep e/c eyes that bored into my soul, searching for answers, to myself. It was a one-on-one sort of moment. But one that wouldn't be had again.

I stopped pacing and sat against the cherry tree. I‌ could go see her again. To explain that we needed to be a secret. We came too close to the police that time. There were helicopters and the Secret Service this time. It could have been detrimental to the team if we were caught.

All I had to do was go back to that building and explain it all. But I‌ didn't know anything about this girl. What if she wasn't there again? Then what? I sighed in defeat and adjusted into a meditation position, desperate to clear my head.

Slow, even breaths. It's all over now.

With closed eyes, I rested my hands on my knees and slowly felt a wave of calm wash over my spirit. We were all safe at home. Nothing was going to harm us. No one was looking for us.

Suddenly, something fell from the tree and squealed. I‌ forced my eyes open and jumped up, whirling around to see Mikey sprawled on the floor.

"Ow!"‌ He clutched his leg.

I‌ sighed. "Mikey, what are you doing here?"

He smirked as he rubbed his leg. "Dr. Prankenstein strikes again! But it kind of-"

"Backfired?"‌ I finished for him. "Yeah, thanks a lot."

I‌ held out a hand, and he took it as I‌ helped him to his feet.

"We're getting pizza for dinner! The delicious pepperoni and mozzarella cheese are calling my NAME, man! Come on!" He ran out of the dojo, excitedly.

I smiled and shook my head. Oh, Mikey.

Maybe that was a sign. Everything was going to be okay. Monitoring the news would be enough.

Unless I looked for the girl tomorrow to make sure we were kept a secret.

Your POV

A million Google searches later at 3 am, I had nothing on "giant karate turtles". Nothing related to "ninja", "New York", or "robots". They just didn't exist.

I let out a slow breath and closed my laptop. I needed to stop. This wasn't going anywhere.

I crawled back into bed and drifted off into a dream filled with the deep blue eyes I‌ saw across the rooftops, wondering where they were now.

Then, snap! It was eleven in the morning and the sun was burning onto my face.

I‌ groaned as I‌ struggled to get up and stretched on my bed. My hair, of course, was a lost cause, and it kept getting in my eyes as I‌ tried to move it to the side and got up from the bed.

After brushing my teeth, I made a half breakfast half lunch of a bagel and cream cheese and sat in front of the TV‌ again.

"New reports suggest that the creator of these robots, Dr. Baxter Stockman, experienced a power surge that led to their escape from his lab. The motive for these creations is related to a partnership with a criminal that will be left unnamed until trials commence. He has been arrested until further notice."

I changed the channel, trying to forget about last night. But the thought of those giant turtles and their fighting skills was so surreal. And the one in blue with his form and those damn eyes...

Wait, what?

I shook my head furiously. "No, no, you're not doing this right now. Stop."

Something in me was compelled to go back to the rooftops, but in daylight, the police would be everywhere. I‌ made a silent agreement with myself to go back at night, do some exploring, maybe run into them and talk to them. Maybe they could tell me more.
