August
"C'mon baybeh, wake up please!" I whispered I'm her ear for the hundredth time.
Its been a couple hours now and Alei was still unresponsive. It was killing me seeing her laying there.
"You strong ma. Ya gotta come back fa our son."
Wiping my tears, I thought back on our son. Seeing him before coming to see Alei was bitter sweet. He laid in his cot so peacefully.
It was just me at this point, at her bedside. Her mother came up and broke down when she saw her. Convincing the doctors too, Shay and the others visited and we said a prayer.
"I'm not letting ya go that easy Aleisha." I caressed her cheek as I placed my head on the side of hers.
Hearing the doors open, I looked up to see Doctor Sanders walking in.
"August?"
"Tell me she's going to be ok?"
Taking a deep breath, he exhaled and opened his file for her. Trying hard to be optimistic, I chose not to say anything.
"The thing is, she has brain activity taking place."
"Well that's good right?"
"It is." He nodded hesitantly. "But as of right now, these machines are what are keeping her alive."
"So ya telling me that my girl is in a coma?"
"Unfortunately."
"For how long is she gonna be like this?"
"I can't say. Sometimes it can be days, sometimes it can be more."
Rubbing my hands down my face, I was trying to control my frustrations.
"August I'm really sorry and I promise you, we will do all that we can."
"Yeah man, thanks." I nodded.
"Whenever you're ready, the nurse can bring up your son for you."
"Thanks."
As he left, I went back to Alei's side and just broke down. I honestly couldn't keep it in any longer.
"Baybeh I'm sorry." I cried. "I should have never left like that, then all this wouldn't be happening. Ya would have been at tha house."
Holding her hand, I said another prayer. In the midst of it all, my phone began going off.
"Man. Not right now!" I shook my head.
Taking it out my pocket, I unlocked the screen to see a shit load of notifications from my Instagram and twitter.
Opening my Twitter, my mentions were filled with people asking me if it was true.
Going to Instagram, thats when I saw one of those blogs posted a story along with a photo from the car accident.
"balleralert: R&B singer, August Alsina alleged ex girlfriend was reportedly in a car accident earlier this morning.
It was reported that while driving along one of the main roads, a car, breaking the light collided into hers, sending and pinning her into a post.
Story is still developing as we send our prayers out to her family and August as we knee they were still close."
I was relieved that they hadn't mentioned the baby but I honestly didn't want this to be out there. Not like this.
Scrolling down my call log, I called Dev.
"Yea man, I've seen it."
"Ya gotta make sure they ain't say anything about ha being pregnant."
