August
"Alei!"
Coming up the stairs, I been calling this girl since I got into tha house.
"Yea!"
Finally answering me, her voice came from inside the nursery.
"Ya seen my joggers?"
"Which one babe?"
Walking out into the hallway, she held our son as she nursed.
"The green one ma."
"Yea its in the basket in our room. I washed it with the intentions of folding it."
"Thank you."
Kissing her on her cheek, she smiled before following me into our room.
"You're going out?"
Looking behind me, she sat on the bed, gently rocking our son.
"Mhmm." I nodded. "I got and interview that I completely forgot about." I sighed.
"Oh ok."
Pulling my tee over my head, I moved around and got what I needed.
"You think they're going ask?"
"I know they are and honestly, I don't want to have to deal with it but I got to."
"True." She nodded.
"How bout you and him come with me?"
"Nah. It's OK."
"I'm serious babe." I sat next to her.
"I have him to see about and some other things to do around here babe, but I'll listen still."
"Nope, you're coming with me." I took our son. "Mirah's in school and ya moms went out to get some more stuff. You've been in this house so long, you've gotten fairer and Ion even know how that's possible."
"Fine." She exhaled. "Watch him for me?"
"He's my son, of course."
"A simple yes would do." She rolled her eyes.
"Ain't nothing simple with me baybeh!" I yelled as she walked into the bathroom.
After burping Gabe, I went and got him changed and packed somethings in his baby bag.
Honestly I didn't see the point of packing much except a change of clothes and some extra diapers.
"Ion know why females be overpacking shit." I spoke to him.
"OK let me get-" Alei paused.
"What?" I looked at her.
"Thanks." She smiled.
"No problem ma. Ya ready?"
"Yea just let me grab my phone and jacket and a yogurt."
"Aight. Meet me by the car."
"Got it!" She yelled as she ran up the hall.
"Lets go son." I walked out. "Lesson number one son. Most females take forever to get ready. It don't matter how simple they dress code be, they always take forever and ya momma is one of them."
Looking at me directly as I strapped him in, It was as though he knew what I was saying.
Once he was in, Alei finally came out, looking good as always.
"Mmm."
"What?" She laughed.
"Ya looking really good in that dress."
