Kami once used the expression, "I'm going to kick him into the next dimension!" before when she talked about one of her old boyfriends. I didn't really understand it, since it didn't seem possible, but as I was kicked out of the negative realm, I realized the saying held some truth. The world warped back to the physical realm after the intruder's foot slammed into my chest and sent me flying through a broken window. I flipped around and fired a barrage of shots at him. I landed on one of the ceiling pieces and fired another barrage, shattering one of their shin guards.

"Oh my god, Ki!" Kami cried. My reticle snapped down to where he lay crumpled on the ground of the arena. No! Not him too! Jay lay not too far off in a similar terrible state. The dragonfly man landed next to Ki and began carting him away by the back of his shirt.

"Watch it!" Frances shouted. I shoved open my umbrella, the antimatter intruder's halberd slamming into the fabric. Little black orbs appeared around me. When one appeared next to my shin, it ate away the tights there. My mind blanked. I couldn't go forward because I was pinned down. Any other direction I moved would be into the orbs. Even worse, the orbs inched closer as they steadily grew in size. If I waited too much longer, my armor would get destroyed. And if that were the case...what would happen to Kami?

Kami shifted my arm and I fired my grapple at the floor. My body jerked as it engaged and I was ripped off my perch. Kami angled it perfectly as my umbrella blocked the orbs as I shot downwards. More orbs appeared around me and began covering the space above the ground. Kami snapped my fingers and I landed into a pad of webs over the orbs. I whirled around and fired at the antimatter A-class chasing after me. My reticle locked onto their visor and the next shot made it shatter, sending them careening off to the side.

I looked for Ki again. He was running. My reticle snapped to the molten intruder lurking above on the partition. A shuriken materialized in his hand and he threw it, the blades whirling straight for Ki.

"Ki!" I screamed. I fired my grapple at him, hoping to pull him out of the way. Someone else was faster. I shouted as Ki went flying away with a rope of energy. My heart leapt to my throat. His body condensed and I tracked his trajectory to...Jay? Oh, no.

"Jay, no!" Kami barked. The next second, Jay's body convulsed as the bands electrocuted him. I was forced to look away as the antimatter intruder came back. Kami caught his halberd on the umbrella before I even realized he was there.

The next hit went straight over my shoulder, cutting in deep. I cried out, my body shuddering. My energy was scraping an empty reserve. Kami wasn't any better. I could hear her labored breathing, each inhale a ragged gasp. I summoned a box and pulled out a bag of flour. I threw it at the A-class in front of me and punched it, making the flour explode in his face. He got a lungful and began to choke on the powder. I kicked him off, screaming as the halberd pried out of my shoulder.

Fighting wasn't working anymore. I needed a better plan. My reticle bounced all over the place as I tried to find something to give me direction. I couldn't keep up. Elicits. Jay. Civilians. There was too much. To make it worse, the pieces of ceiling started to groan and shift lower. Whoever was holding them up was running out of energy too.

A burst of light distracted everyone for a second as Jay began to glow. Armor formed into metal boots up to his knees and vambraces on his forearms. A hooded sweatshirt covered his torso and a heavy belt sat over his jeans. He must have equipped Ki, although a C-class wouldn't be much help. Blood leaked out from underneath Jay's bands. His body twitched. Then he rolled onto his side. I threw a Spider's Nest on the antimatter intruder to give me time to get away and I slid along one of the strings towards the floor.
