Kami sat down after Ki left to go search for Jay but I could tell she was itching to go search. A few rounds later, the lights started to go on and off, making me worry we would have a repeat of Bailey. Then they stopped and the tournament resumed. Once the medal ceremonies began, I left my seat. I couldn't stand sitting still anymore, not with Kami forcing herself to stay put. I tried calling Ki to see if he made any progress yet I got the out of service message. Liliael's stadium had no dead spots.

Something was wrong.

I stiffened as something jolted my spine. It took me a minute to recognize the sensation. It was Ki. More accurately, the synergy bond I shared with Ki. I looked around, wondering why I felt such a feeling. Ki wasn't there. I certainly wasn't using my Elicit powers to find him. What did it mean?

I started my investigation on the floor with the parfait stand. The workers there noted someone fitting Ki's description was asking for Jay not too long ago. My search became hindered when the stands started clearing out. With the tournament done, people were flooding the floors to leave the stadium. After several minutes of fighting the crowd, I moved to the side of the hall and stood on a bench. With so many bodies, it would be almost impossible to find Ki but maybe he would see me. I kept hoping to see a spot of gold amongst the heads but any I did see were not on the person I was looking for.

"You're supposed to sit on those." I jumped and found Donna looking up at me with her hands on her hips. Valorie stood next to her trying to stay out of the way of the moving crowd.

"I'm looking for my friends," I told them. I gave them a brief explanation of what Jay and Ki looked like. Neither had seen them. Donna stepped up onto the bench next to me, scanning the sea of hair, hats, turbans, head scarves, and bald scalps.

"Did something happen?" Valorie asked.

"Jay's been missing for awhile. Ki went to go find him but now we can't get in contact with either of them," I replied.

"Why don't you try again?" Valorie offered. I called and she tried calling them from her own phone. Jay didn't pick up and Ki's phone was still out of service. I immediately wondered if Ki had been Gravitated. Kami never got cell service if she took her phone with her into the void. I tried not to panic but my mind was already jumping to terrible assumptions.

"Where was the last place you saw them?" Donna asked.

"In the stands, although Ki was up here not too long ago. One of the food vendors recognized him," I replied.

"Have you tried sonar?"

"So-nar?"

Donna let out a huff and put her hands on her hips. "You mean to tell me no one told you about Elicit sonar? Geez. Do you have synergy with either of them?"

"Jay's an Elicit but I have some with Ki."

"Perfect. Sonar is like Gravitation only instead of using pure Elicit energy, you're going to channel your synergy through it. Can you see energy?"

"Yes. Can you show me?"

"Gladly."

Donna clasped her hands together and closed her eyes. I watched her energy manifest around her hands and a golden thread weaved within it. Then it pulsed outward. The thread wove around Valorie for a moment before fading. The rest of the energy dissipated into the crowd. A few gave it a curious glance but then went back to leaving the stadium.
