"Ki!" Kami shouted. I watched in horror as Ken's armor turned from intermittent pieces to a full set of heavy plates. It was a dusty amber color with swatches of ocean blue, accents of gold and a light marbling of white and red. The weapon, some sort of hammer-scythe hybrid, was a bronzy gold with blue gems inlaid within the portion melding the two weapons. The armor was bulky, layered and left very little exposed. A collar rose up from the chest plate to the lower part of his nose while his helmet covered his head to just below his eyes. With how he stood, the collar was lowered so we could see his ugly grin.

"He must have gear in his helmet or he's going to be fighting blind," Kami said, her voice shaky. I agreed with her observation. Normal headgear offered some sort of slits or goggles to look out through unless it comprised of tech gear, like Kami's did. Ki's helmet was solid metal with small rivets and blue gems to accent the sides. It reminded me of a winter hat someone pulled down too far over his face.

"Jay, go hide!" Donna ordered, shoving him towards the torn screen. He hesitated for a moment before he nodded and complied. He needed to stay out of the way or we'd have a repeat of Bailey. Although, we were fighting with more than just weapons this time in a building with questionable structural integrity. He might be in danger no matter where he hid. Donna whirled her dirks and I planted my feet as the two A-class charged towards us. I blocked a sword aimed at my face and tangled my opponent in Spider's Nest.

Ken jumped off the balcony and my heart leapt into my throat. When he landed, his legs gave out and his face smashed into a seat before he collapsed on the floor. Whether Ki was behind that or not, it served that bastard right. As the A-class broke free of Spider's Nest, I dropped them into a Pit of Webs and hooked my arm around their neck. As they squirmed to break free of the choke hold, I watched Donna take out her opponent.

"Please go down," I begged as the fighter in my arms continued to thrash.

They finally went unconscious. When I untangled my limbs from them, Ken was already back on his feet. Donna sliced at him several times to no effect and Ken sent her flying into the decorative chandelier hanging over the theater. I ran at him, surprised by how fast he could swing his weapon. The scythe barely missed my head and the next pass nearly clipped me too. I bounded back, noting Ken's lumbering steps as he chased after me. Donna the clear advantage of speed over him but she was trying to untangle herself from wires and glass beads.

I connected my grapple to the ceiling, hoping to get the high ground. Ken clubbed a seat with the hammer, sending it straight into my chest. I went flying, plastering against a plaster face of some old man I didn't know. Kami flipped me backwards as another seat came flying at me. Donna managed to break free of the chandelier and leapt down to the floor. Her speed wasn't enough as Ken whirled forward in a golden blur. She went crashing into the theater screen, causing it to collapse.

My second attempt to reach the ceiling failed as some sort of tool on the end of a rope hooked onto the edge of my boot. Ken gave the rope a yank, ripping my grapple anchor free and making me fall. Kami was quick enough to cast Paradox Rift right before we hit the seats so we passed through to the floor. It was by no means a soft landing but it was better than breaking my back on the chairs. I rolled to my feet, taking aim at Ken with my umbrella. My reticle locked on the thin space between his helmet and collar piece. Then the earth bucked upwards beneath my feet. Both Kami and I failed to keep my balance and I smashed into a jagged piece of floor. My collarbone let out a pop from beneath my battered armor and my shoulder felt too stiff in its socket. The floor shot up underneath me, stabbing my already sore collarbone, and I went tumbling down onto the floor.

"He can still sense us," Kami said. "We need to get off the ground."

"Do you know what kind of attunement he is?"
