April 30th, 2009
Houston, Texas.

"Shhh,he's gonna hear us guys, shush." Scarlett whispered while lightning the candles of the cake.

We were trying to surprise Jacques for his seventeenth birthday. It's really crazy because I know him since we were eight years old and watching him grow up every day made me realize that life is so short and fun when you're spending it with the people you love and care about.

"Are you all ready?" Chris asked and we all nodded in response. "Three, two, one."

We opened Jacques' door to surprise him but it seems like he was already up. He was probably making beats the whole night. His eyes had darker bags under them, but he still looked cute while shocked.

Jack smiled, "Thank you guys so much. I forgot it was my birthday today, damn." He said and we all laughed.

Before he would blow out the candles I quickly said "Make a wish!" He smiled and whispered, "Alright."  He said and then blew out all the candles at once, which was pretty strange, since every time he tries to blow them all, one always manages to keep being on fire, making him shout at it.

"Suck it, stupid candles, I won this year." He screamed at the candles and we all burst out laughing.

We all clapped and started hugging him and gave him birthday wishes.

"So, I invited some people over for your birthday. They're gonna be here in any second so change and meet us all down." Ash informed Jack and everyone, except me, went downstairs.

"So, you were making beats?" I asked Jacques as he grabbed an outfit from the drawer to change into it.

"Hell yeah, I'm addicted to making music." He replied with a smile and made his way to the bathroom.

"You don't have to make those all night, Jacques. You have to rest." I softly spoke from his bedroom.

He was looking so tired every day because he was staying up all night making beats. He turned around and walked back to me.

"You know that's my dream, Kells. You know that I won't give up on my dream." He looked me straight in the eyes with an expression that I couldn't really read.

"God, Jacques, I would never tell you to stop chasing your dream. I just care about you and your well-being." I honestly said and smiled at him.

"I know you're just looking after me and I appreciate that, Kells. But making beats it's like watching Netflix at three am and keep saying 'another one episode won't hurt'  to yourself. Y'know what I mean?" He chuckled.

"Of course I do. Come here." I laughed a little and opened my arms for him to hug me. He was taller than me which made the hug more comfortable, by wrapping his arms around my waist, giving me goosebumps when a few of his fingers touched my bare skin.

"Happy birthday, Jacques." I removed my face from the crook of his neck to kiss his cheek and got out of his bathroom so he could get ready.
