chapter twenty one:
TOXIC———
October 23rd, 2012.
Kelsey"Are you sure though?"
"Fuck, I really hope you're wrong." A few seconds passed.
"...Damn, okay. Aight see you." Jacques ended the call and placed his phone on the bedside table."Is everything okay?" I asked him while rubbing my eyes.
"Did I wake you up?" Jacques asked me and laid next to me, with a puzzled look covering his face.
"It's okay." I stretched and turned to look at him.
His skin was perfectly glowing when the rays of the sun filled the room. He was looking down, with his long eyelashes hiding his eyes and his lips being slightly parted.
He looked like art at that moment. Someone should have been there to capture this moment by drawing or taking a picture of him.
And don't let me start with his scent. He always smelled amazing, heavenly if I must say.
His hands were standing tangled into his lap, playing with the diamond ring that was placed on his left hand, taking it out and then in.
But after a few seconds, his right hand went to his semi-long braids (pretend that he had the days before rodeo era hairstyle, let's just skip the really short braids in this book!), moving his fingers around one of his braids. I always loved his hair like this.
Don't get me wrong; buzz cut Jacques was definitely adorable and cute but, braids Jacques, or Travis, was something else. He was looking more pretty and beautiful. This hairstyle really complimented his features, his narrowed dark brown eyes, his cute button nose, his well shaped cheekbones and jawline and of course, his big, plump lips, that every time you look at them, you think they scream something like "kiss me".
I really can't believe that I've been thinking so deep about Jacques, my best friend of so many years. It looks surreal how far we've got and I'm really happy to still have him in my life, even though our schedules are about to start being more strict and full; that's something we always feared when we were talking about our future.
But we promised that we wouldn't fall off, no matter what circumstances we would be under. I wonder how we could be so smart to think of something like that, when we were only fourteen years old. Well, we both were always been thinking very deep, for most of the things. We both started talking 'deep' at the age of thirteen. Crazy right?
We could have deep conversations for hours, not caring about how much time would pass. It was very interesting and still is.
I didn't notice Jacques was now supporting his body on his right elbow and turned to face me. He definitely caught me staring but he surprisingly didn't say something smart or cocky. He looked kind of off.
Weird, I thought and supported my weight on my left elbow as well, mimicking his moves.
His brows furrowed when he looked at me and smiled, before moving his left arm in the air, keeping it steady. I did the exact same thing and then he smirked.
I didn't know what was following next until both of his hands were on my stomach, tickling it with his fingers.
"J-Jack!" I managed to say between my laughter and then started kicking him softly so he would stop.
