I shuffle my legs and crawl out of my hut. Teresa I'd laying on a limb in the tree. Maya is under about a foot. And Kira is in higher that Teresa. Paxton hangs out around the top. I move myself up smelling pine as I go to sit next to Maya.

"Hi," she says as I approach.

"Yo," I reply. She simply smiles and lays down. But she pops back up.

"Just kidding. So how's life?" She asks. I laugh.

"Great. See ya!" I say as I shuffle up to Teresa. She looks weirdly similar to me. Long brown hair. Dark roasted chestnut eyes. Are smiles are similar too.

"Teresa. What's up?" I ask. "Hey I was wondering...do you have a family that after this you will go to?" I ask quickly and automatically I know what I said was wrong. "Sorry," I whisper.

"Yes. Well I had one for only a couple days. Well you see..." I stop her.

"I understand. I've probably upset you," I say quietly and move up to Kira. She greets me with a smile. And the first thing she says surprises me.

"Paxton sure is happy," she seems relaxed as she leans against a limb of the tree. More relaxed than me. "Haven't seen him this happy since...I don't know, but he's happy. He practically skipped to the top limb," she says pointing upward, her long hair flows down her back when she points.

"I uh." She literally grabs my wrist.

"It's cause of you silly!" She says excitedly. "I know he kissed you. I was awake and I so happened to see it." She says smiling. "Go talk to him." She lays down again. My heart beats again. The butterflies twist my stomach inside and out. I pull myself up to the last limb and don't even dare to look down. The height shouldn't scare me, but I'm already freaked out about talking to Paxton I might as well fall off. Kira was right, Paxton is gleaming!

"We're gonna go home!' He says. "In a couple of days!" He says turning to face me. My heart skips a beat.

"And why not now?" I ask him.

"I think we all need a little bit of time for the events to settle in. It's been a long forever," he says not exactly making sense. I just nod and lean against a think limb that almost looks like a chair.

"Also I don't want to leave you just yet," he says. My heart tears. I really like him, but I don't know what to say.

"Yea," is all I can manage, and I hit myself in the forehead when it comes out. Yea is that it! He just said he didn't want to leave you. Yea! I give him a hug and climb down. Then it hits me. My family, I'm going to see them again!! The joy overwhelms me and I yelp. The cool air makes adrenaline course through my body. I calm down by sitting against the tree, after everyone is done glaring and giggling about my over excitement (they don't know yet we're going home) and I take a breath and close my eyes.
