The midnight black sky held above my head. Stars glistened in the dark void, brightening it in some way. City noises could also be heard in the background. Vehicles, honks, and the frustrating yelling people gave to each other. Slightly rolling my eyes, I continued to focus on our main goal.Peeking my eyes through the bush in front of the museum Mark and I have planned to ambush. I waited some more until a security guard walked in front of the main doors, whistling and fiddling with his flashlight. As it turned back on and he passed by, I walked out of the bush and sprinted to one of the walls. I looked up and loaded my X2000 grappling gun and shot it to get me to the roof.
Once I had made it, I crawled into the nearest vent near me. While crawling, light through other vent openings crept through the small crevasses, illuminating the small space.
Crawling a bit more, I have reached where Mark and I agreed to meet at. I opened the vent and dropped down onto the floor. I looked around me to search for any guards nearby and also taking in the whole thing. This building was enormous and I wondered how Mark was able to capture the whole thing.
While doing so, I heard a very similar Tarzan yell from my right and turned in time to see Mark crash into some glass and land in front of me. After cleaning himself up for a second, he began to speak.
[Mark] Alright we're in. You know the plan, right?
He asked. Before I could say any more, he cut me off which was a bit rude, but we're breaking in a museum so which one is worse?
[Mark] PFFT! What am I saying? You practically wrote it. Everything you need is in your bag, so let's synchronize our watches on three.
We pulled up our sleeves in sync to reveal our super stylish and powerful watches. It was taking him a while for him to begin, so I took my focus off of my watch to look at him.
[Mark] Three! Perfect.
I gestured my hand at him, but he didn't really notice or I don't think he actually cared.
[Mark] Now, stick to the plan and you'll be just fine. But if you deviate from it for even a single moment, I won't come back for you.
He dug into his bag and pulled out his own X2000 grappling gun and aimed it to the ceiling of the building.
[Mark] Okay? Good luck!
And with that, he fired the gun and went...somewhere. It may sound a bit harsh for him to leave me behind when I need help, but I can't blame him for that. I know he planned restless nights and days just to make this break-in reality. And whatever we're - or he - is after, and it goes as far as breaking the law, then it must be really important.
I dug in my bag to see what Mark has packed for me. I pulled out the item and I was slightly disappointed. It was a grilled and seasoned steak. I got up and groaned a small bit, but at least he thought this through to involve snacks. Just then, I heard a unknown voice from behind and I know I was caught. I turned around to see a guard pointing his gun at me.
[Guard] What do you think you're doing?
He then took a small glance at the food in my hand and his eyes went wide.
[Guard] Oh no! Not the old steak trick. I'm not falling for that twice.
'Twice' I thought as I slowly put away the steak in my pocket.
[Guard] Yeah, put the steak down.
Just then, in the corner of my eye, I could see movement. I carefully glanced over to see Mark dressed as a big plotted plant and he made his way towards the guard. I then focused on the guard.
