I unbuckled my seat belt and got out of Illinois's vehicle. His house was like a two story tall building that has bricks on the outside. A green big yard was in front with bushes under the windows of the first floor. Small little flowers bloomed around the sidewalk and curb. Sweet little place if you ask me.[Illinois] First, I'm going to get my things together and then we can go to your house so you can also pack.
I took off my backpack and threw it on my seat before closing the door. Illinois had his book bag and papers with him as he unlocked his front door. I wasn't far behind him and when we went inside, it was a nice luxury modern home.
The living space had two large sofa couches, a small glass coffee table, a fire place, and some books shelves here and there.
I took a small peek into the kitchen to see a nice space. The kitchen had an island counter and his accomplices were very modern. The table was a medium size. Bit too big for someone living alone.
After that, the staircase came into view. Guesses are the bedrooms, bathrooms, and closets. I could hear Illinois walking upstairs.
I decided to wait in the living room. When I arrived, I saw in the corner there was a small office with papers and maps and a large wooden desk. My curiosity got the better of me and I went inside.
I looked around to see maps all around with sticky notes attached to them. Books were scattered all around and the map of the entire globe. I shoved some bits of paper away and looked at the map.
He wasn't lying. He did travel the world. Each popular landmark was marked as an X. Some are still undiscovered. He even went to Paris, France!
I never knew that you have these opportunities as a adventurer. When I was little, I had normal dreams, like a police officer, firefighter, astronaut, you name it. I dreamed of it all. But it never crossed my mind to be an adventurer.
Just then, I heard steps coming down from the stairs. I panicked when something else caught my attention. A small leather book that was hidden at first sight. My curiosity was drawn to it. I picked up the small book and stuff it inside my jacket, crossing my arms around it so it wasn't visible.
I then quietly ran to one of the couches and sat down, looking around. Illinois came to the living room in his usual outfit. A tan long sleeve tactical shirt, flat front khaki pants, a belt, and lumber up boots. And what can suit it all without his hat. Oh and his whip and small bag were there as well.
He had a suitcase in hand along with another bag. Papers could be seen through and I guess that was his research bag.
[Illinois] The sooner we go, the sooner we'll get there.
We got up and he locked his door. We went out and I swiftly and sneakily put the book in my bag. We got in and then we proceeded to go to my house.

We had arrived at my house and I got out my bag and speed walked into my house, unlocking the door. Illinois waited only his vehicle while I packed my stuff.
I dropped my bag in my room and began to pack the stuff I needed for the trip. Since it may be hot where we are, I decided to change in a light army green tactical shirt, black flexible pants, and black leather boots.
I opened a suitcase with some more clothes for that weather and some of my hygiene stuff.
I wanted to take my phone but I wondered if I was going to lose it or it was going to be stolen. I opened the text messages and told everyone I knew that I'm going to be gone for a little while.
I put it down on my desk and continued to pack for the week long trip.
When I was about to walk out the door, I turned around and looked at my bag in my room. Illinois's book was still in there. I set down my suitcase and ran to my room. I opened my bag and put the small book into one of my pockets. I made sure it stayed there and it won't fall out. When it was secure enough, I picked up the suitcase and walked out the door, making sure the door was locked.
I got into the vehicle, and threw the suitcase into the back seat. I buckled myself and Illinois drove out of my driveway.

We had arrived at a airport and we both got out our stuff.
[Illinois] I have a friend that will meet us at the doors of this place. He'll help us.
[Y/N] With what?We walked to the front door. There I saw a tall man with jet black hair gelled back. His face was serious and straight with fair skin. His eyes were a piercing light hazel and his eyebrows were slightly arched but thick. On one side of his brow, a cut was noticeable near the end. He had a strong jawline with a heavy stubble beard. His clothing was elegant but still had the bad boy vibe. And his height was about 6.2. Although he is intimidating, he is quite handsome.
When he first saw us, his eyes lit up and his arms were held out in front. He walked to Illinois and gave him a big hug. Illinois patted his back and returned the hug. The man went even further by picking Illinois up, effortlessly.
[???] Illinois! It has been a while, old friend.
[Illinois] It has and from the last time we met, I believe you are the eldest.
[???] Still the same person I know.Said the man with a British accent. He put Illinois down and then he noticed me. His eyes gleamed and he walked in front of me.
[???] And may I ask who this dove is?
[Y/N] (Nickname). (Y/N) (Middle or Nickname) (L/N).
[???] Which name would you prefer?
[Y/N] Just call me (nickname).
[???] Well, greetings (nickname). He made me set down my suitcase and took my hand in his. He brought the top of my hand to his lips, kissing it gently. I tried my best to hide the disgusted face I was hiding, but some may have been showed. I hope he didn't notice.
[Y/N] Flattered.
He let go of my hand and he turned back to Illinois. That, I rubbed my hand on the side of my pants.
[Illinois] (Nickname) is my....associate for this journey.
[Y/N] I am not your associate.
[???] I see. Well it is good to have another helping with your work. Come with me.. . .
