Monkey gibbering and speaks could be heard around me. Not sure if they were placed in my head or if Illinois heard them as well. Afraid of what is happening, I leaned my hand forward to Illinois because I wanted it to stop. Fortunately, they did and it all ended with a loud screech.[Illinois] All right. Thanks, buddy. You know, for a second there I thought that crazy joke I told you about cursed monkeys was actually true.
First off, I'm not your buddy. And second, he fooled me?! Why am I so gullible? He got the statue out of my hand and he grasped onto it tight. When he did, in the process he gently grazed his fingers over mine.
[Illinois] No, I've lost associates to cursed snakes, cursed tigers, cursed elephants, cursed beavers.
The statue eyes glowed a bright red, attracting the attention of Illinois. Throughout his sentence, every time he speaks of an animal, he grows more attracted to the statue while his voice grows deeper and deeper. The light reflected off of his gloss eyes and I was getting myself ready to whip that statue out of his hands and give him a slap on the face for doing that.
[Illinois] But cursed monkeys? That couldn't be possibly true.
Okay, now this man is going to get a slap either way for faking that whole thing or staring into the eyes of the monkey. If it was a tiger, I'd be singing that song "Eye of the tiger" by Survivor.
Illinois places the small statue on the pedestal and when he did, the glass sculpture flowed as it made contact. Choir music played in the background as I was growing towards the glowing thing. The whole thing flowed so much, that it made me blind for a second.
When my vision came back, though, I was following Illinois from a hole. We both shielded our eyes from the piercing bright light as we slowly made our way up the small but steep hill. As we walked, I could hear screeches and sequels of monkeys in the back as the angelical music continued to play.
We emerged from the hole to see a beautiful scenery. Forest surrounded us and chirps of birds flew around us. Not far from us was a temple. Bananas glowed and they hung far above our heads. The air was fresh and I could hear a waterfall and stream flow near us.
It was all beautiful until Illinois spoke up.
[Illinois] Wow. Now, I've seen a lot of animal heavens in my time. Lion heaven, dog heaven, bee heaven.
Right after he mentioned bee heaven, we quickly turns around to faces me as he points his index finger in my face. Kinda rude to be honest.
[Illinois] Bee heaven was not a fun place. But this? This is pretty all right.
I lightly rolled my eyes as I returned to enjoy the whole thing. We have now made it in front of the temple where monkeys could be seen. They were all gathered in one place, chattering to one another. When they saw us, one of them came up in front of me and held their hands out like how Jesus did it.
When the monkey did, I banana dangling from the sky softly fell into my hands like a feather. I was amazed at how this place was and it was fascinating.
But, every good moment has to end at some point. The whole thing started to fade into white and soon, we were back at the temple, in front of each other.
[Illinois] Wow. That really was something.
I still had the banana in my hand and Illinois noticed this sweet sustenance I grasped onto.
[Illinois] Oh, you got a banana. All I got was a rock.
I could tell he was a bit disappointed with his reward. To be honest, I felt a little pity for him. Yes, I may be stubborn, but I'm not heartless. Even thought I called him kinky and a bitch, it's part of the truth. (Please don't get mad at me.)
[Illinois] Oh, well. Not all animal heavens can be winners.
He threw the rock in my hand and I caught it with one hand.
[Illinois] I'll see you around, kid. Thanks for the fun adventure. Oh and sorry if you fell in love with me. They always do.
The sound of a whip cracking was to be heard again and I became completely irritated of it. I swear, if I hear that one more time, I'm going to be so mad at him.
Anyways, I wanted to ask him if he could help me out of this place, but I didn't get a chance to since he was no where to be seen. I groaned as my stomach had grumbled. I patted my stomach as I looked at the rock in my hand. Dust started to gather around me and my nose started to tickle. I breathed in a couple of times before letting out the pressure in my nose.
As I opened my eyes, I could see that the rock that once was in my hand now turned into a beautiful gem. I dusted it off to see more features of it. I then looked to my banana. I peeled it and inside was gold. To my surprise, it wasn't really heavy like I intended it to be.
All of a sudden my hunger went away as I put the precious jewels in my bag for safe keeping. I didn't have anything left to do except to find a way out.
I don't need someone to help me out of this place when I can retrace my steps. Right?
