I gave him a thumbs up. Even though I'm still pretty skeptical of this person, so far, he has made a good impression.

[???] Oh, great! That's awesome! It's not every day that you meet someone that's willing to face almost certain death on a daily basis.

Each word seemed to get lower. Lower than I thought was possible in human nature. Sounded like the Devil himself. And I don't trust that, so stay back.

[???] Good on you. And this thing, it's incredible. I've never seen anything like it. But I have seen a lot of monkey carvings on the walls in this temple, so they're probably related.

Monkey screeches could be heard, echoing through the caverns of this long ago ancient temple. Almost... aggressively and unsettling. A lot is untold information people don't know. And that's what I fear the most.

[???] I think it's destiny. Why don't you hold onto this for me? But be careful. It might be cursed. So, don't look into it's eyes for too long.

I obeyed his instructions and tipped the small statue from me, earning a screech from it. Before, it's eyes glowed a bright red, obviously signaling me that it is no good.

I looked up to see the unknown man walking away from me, going deeper into the halls. I placed the statue in my bag and I began to slowly walk towards him, when he spoke out loud:

[???] Come on, slowpoke. You gotta keep up if you want to roll with the big boys.

His voice spoke low but suave and a bit sultry, to be honest. Yes, it may be a turn on for many people, but not for me. I don't like perverted or inappropriate and sickening thoughts. It's out of humane attitude that goes against laws of modern times.

We then went into another hallway where I could faintly hear the slashed of metal, swinging. Like how the sound of an axe flying across the room. I didn't like the sound of that. The man turned around, walking backwards as we continued to move to the sound.

[???] The name's Illinois. Pleasure to me me. And I know what you're thinking.

The man, or Illinois, began to speak in a deep and suave voice. Plus, I was thinking for you to shut the Hell up and look to where you are walking.

[Illinois] Yes.

He then winked at me, a whip crackled in the background. Yes, it's uncomfortable and it's perverted and I could tell he is a kinky bitch.

[Illinois] I am single. But I'm married to the job and my associates never last long. So best not to get too attached.

Well, jokes on you, I never even thought of becoming your associate nor will I ever. We came closer and closer to the sound until a axe that is swinging from the top of the hall came into sight. Illinois was coming closer and as I was about to warn him, he passed by it like it was nothing.

[Illinois] Oh I wouldn't worry about the traps. They always seem to be perfectly timed to miss you if you're going at a casual walk.

Well, there is a difference to where you're actually going on a casual walk and going on a walk through an ANCIENT temple with traps popping out of the sides of the walls.

[Illinois] I think they count on people panicking and jumping around. But you? You're as cool as a cucumber. I like that.

I scoffed as he said that and rolled my eyes, hugely. We finished walking through that horrifying course of coming close to death. Thankfully, it was finished.

[Illinois] None of my other associates ever had the stones to make it this far.

Walking a few more steps, in front of Illinois came a dried human skeleton that still held onto a sword. Illinois, however, was not phased by this as he responded with a casual 'all right' and pushed the skeleton aside.

Just a few more steps until we have made it to a small pedestal where nothing laid on top.

[Illinois] Well, well, well. Here we are. That was a lot easier than I expected. If I had to guess, I'd say this is where the monkey statue goes.

He walked behind the small pillar and gestured to the space.

[Illinois] You know you've been an incredible help on this adventure and I can't help but thank you. So why don't you just hand over the monkey statue and make this place whole again.

I got out the small statue from my bag, and held it into my hand. For some odd reason, I was skeptical to had it to him. What if he doesn't keep his promise on putting this back? What will he do with it? Surely, it's an artifact and they're not to messed with. And with so much power in the wrong hands could cause the world go to shit.

Also, what the fuck did I do to help? I didn't do shit through this whole thing. Except for listening to this pervert. And that's one hard job for me to continue to hear this bitch yap on.
