as soon as i pull up to the airport, i notice christina standing with her suitcases. i honk and roll the window down,

"chris! over here."

she looks up from her phone with a confused look on her face but quickly runs over once she realizes it's me.

i unlock the trunk for her and she throws her suitcase in. she then hops into the passenger seat and i drive off, heading to gabbie's place.

"gosh i missed you! it's been, what, three months?" she asks.

i nod, "yeah. how have you been?"

"stressed! but forget about me, how are you?" her tone lets me know that she really wants to know how i'm holding up since the breakup.

i shrug, putting my left blinker on before getting into the fast lane, "it's been a roller coaster. good days and bad days, you know?"

she puts her hand over mine that's resting on the armrest, "i get it. i'm sorry i wasn't there for you."

"hey don't worry about it. i wasn't really in a place to let anyone in anyway."

and that's true. i completely shut down. it was like i lost a piece of me and i had to find her again.

"you look like you're doing better though. that's good," she comments.

"you know what, i am. at some point you have to move on."

"would that happen to mean you're talking to someone new? maybe someone named chance."

i let out a laugh. since his comment on my recent, lots of assumptions have been made. i've seen comments directed towards me and crawford too, which is absolutely crazy. some fans even think i'm seeing jonah now! it's absurd.

"no, no. i'm not that over it. it's going to take time."

"but you did hook up with someone?" she raises her eyebrows at me.

i cough awkwardly. it's definitely not something that i want to discuss with her at the moment, "yeah.. kinda."

she laughs but doesn't push any further. her phone rings and she looks at it before turning to me, biting her lip.

"um.. actually, before we go to gabbie's, can you do me a favor?" she sounds nervous.

"what's up?" i turn down another road.

"well i haven't been able to see corbyn and he was supposed to pick me up. but you offered and i really wanted to see you first. anyway, can we stop by his apartment for a few?"

i frown but try not to make it obvious. of course she'd want to see her boyfriend but he currently lives in the same apartment as... my ex. and i do not want to risk running into him.

"sure... i'll wait in the car while you go in and see him."

she grins, "you're the best. hey, the good news is they're all moving out of the apartment soon. jonah and corbyn are looking for a house together with eben and jordan. zach and his family have a house already, and da- he is looking for a house too with his brothers... and then jack and gabbie, well i actually don't know what's going on there."
