"daniel where are we going?"

he tightens his grip on my hand slightly as we make our way up the steep part of the mountain,

"our favorite spot, of course. i have something special set up there," he smiles.

i smile back softly and silently follow him up the trail. every now and then he'd hum a tune, breaking the comfortable silence.

he's currently humming "can't help falling in love" by elvis presley, which is one of my favorite love songs. it's definitely going to be played at my wedding.

"damn my legs hurt. this is a good workout though," i pant, pausing to put some chapstick on my lips. it is a little chilly today and it's only getting colder as nighttime approaches.

"we're almost there, i promise."

i'm really looking forward to this date. it's crazy how nervous i am considering it's just daniel... but this is our first date in a long while. i can't wait to stargaze with him at our spot.

a short period of time later and we finally arrive.

i gasp slightly once i see the view.

there's a tent set up and a small picnic blanket out next to it with a basket on top. there are lanterns like the ones in the disney movie tangled, my favorite, scattered about. a small movable fire pit is in the middle of it all and across from us is an outdoor movie projector.

i turn to look at daniel, seeing him glance around nervously.

"do you like it ellie?"

"it's... perfect," i walk over and kiss him quickly before skipping over to the beautiful tent,

"are we camping here for the night?"

he nods, a small blush on his face, "yeah if that's alright with you."

i grin widely, crawling into the roomy tent and sprawling out acoss the silk sheets.

daniel peeks his head in and laughs, "i have a comforter as well in case it gets too cold."

i pat the space next to me and he crawls inside, "so... i brought your favorite movies and i have your favorite snacks in the basket. you can pick what we watch first."

i stare at him causing him to tilt his head,

"what's that look?"

"what look?"

"... that," he points at my eyes, which are currently filled with admiration for the man laying across from me.

"i'm just happy."

he lets out a content sigh, "good. that's all i want is for you to be happy."

i sit up and reach over his body to grab the stack of movies, "oh we most definitely have to watch tangled."

he laughs, "how did i know?" he sits up as well and kisses the corner of my mouth before crawling back outside the tent and setting the movie up.

we're sitting next to each other, munching on some snacks as we watch the movie. he has the firepit going and we're cuddled up next to it; everything is absolutely perfect.

at the climax of the movie, daniel shuffles closer and grabs my hand in his. he rubs small circles into the back of it with his thumb,

"i'm really lucky to be here with you, ella. you make me happier than i could have ever imagined. i hope you know how much you mean to me," he sighs thoughtfully.

i reach up with my other hand and gently grab his chin, turning his head to face me, "thank you for this and for everything... for being patient with me."

he smiles, showing his tooth gap, "you said it would be worth it and you were right. i um.. i made you a promise though."

i give him a confused look.

"you don't have to say yes or even give me an answer right away but... i want you to be my girlfriend, officially. so whenever you feel ready just let me know and-"

i cut him off with a passionate kiss, "yes."

he pulls away shocked, "yes?"

"of course i'll be your girlfriend."

the rest of the night takes us to many places and makes our bond even stronger.

i'm happy with daniel and that's all i can ask for.
