Here it is, Rileys big day she is official a teenager. Riley was born on February 7th at 6:54 am. So guess what time she was woken up, thats right 6:54. All of us went in her room and sang her happy birthday loudly and abnoxiously jumping on her bed. "Get off of me fatties." She laughed. We all continued jumping until she pulled her comforter making us fall. We layed on the floor laughing until the smoke detectors went off.
"Who was making bacon?" I asked sniffing the air. Luke immedeatly jumped up.
"Damn it i knew i was forgetting something." He said running out of the room making us all laugh more.
"Alright guys lets go so Riley can get ready for her birthday breakfast." I said making everyone get up. "Happy birthday." I smiled at Riley before shutting her door. My baby cousin is finally 13. I remember going to the hospital for the first time to meet her. Its a very vague memory but i remember it. I loved having a baby around and how everyone was happy. We were always happy then. I remember holding her and kissing her head numerous times and when it was time to go home i asked if we could take her with. When my dad said no i cried the whole way home. Riley walked out of her room still in pajamas.
"Can i get dressed after breakfast so i can take a shower?" She asked dragging herself to the table. She wasnt used to getting up this early on weekends.
"Of course," i laughed. "You can do whatever you want, its your birthday."
"Except drink." Calum said
"Or do drugs!" Michael added.
"Or anything illegal." Luke pointed his spoon at her.
"You guys ruin all the fun." Riley said fakely pouting. I put down her plate of chocolate chip pancakes that i drew a whipped cream face on with a cherry nose. It was something her mom did for her before she went crazy. She smiled and began to cut her pancakes. About half way through she put down her utensils.
"Are you ok Ri?" I placed my hand on her shoulder and she flinched.
"Dont hit me!" She cowered down.
"Hit you?" I asked scared. She paused and looked around at our worried faces.
"Oh, sorry i was...um... just kidding." She took a long pause biting her bottom lip. "Im going to go take a shower now." She pushed away from the table running to her room. I followed behind her shutting the door.
"Riley, what happened?" I asked nervous for the answer. She was sitting on the floor crying.
"I thought you were her." She said with her voice shaking. "Its been happening alot lately. I see her everywhere, i get terrifying flashbacks. It happened at school and i almost had a break down in class but nobody knows. No one knows my past, they wouldnt understand, they would judge me. I dont want them to know, i just want these thoughts to go away!" She began hitting her head in anger. I ran over to her grabbing her wrists and pulled her into a hug.
"Riley its ok just breathe." I pet her hair. "Are you ok now?" She nodded calmly. "If this continues or gets worse tell me ok? You might need therapy." I said and she looked at me shocked.
"I dont want therapy!" She screamed. "I dont want anyone to know about this, ever! I hate my past. I only want to focus on my future." She was really upset now.
"Riley," i tried to explain but she cut me off.
"I need to go take a shower." She began to open the door. "And i dont need therapy." She walked to the bathroom and shut the door gently. I walked back into the kitchen and everyone was starring at me. I sat down at the table waiting to hear the water from the shower start. As soon as it did everyone began talking.
"What the hell happened?" Luke asked.
"She's having flashbacks." I rubbed my temple. My head is killing me. Everyone silently nodded because they knew what they were. I stood up and started cleaning dishes. "Come on guys, we have a party to prepare for."
Dont hate me, i have a plan..
