Chapter 24

It's now February

"HE ASKED ME!" Riley said running through the house. She had just gotten back from school and Alex had finally asked her out.

"How did it happen?" I pulled her down to sit on the couch with me. The boys hadnt left for rehearsals yet so i still hadnt gotten any sleep.

"Okay so we were getting off the bus and he said 'Riley, i really like you and i know its kind of crazy but will you be my girlfriend.' I was so excited but i had to keep my cool. So i replied with a simple 'of course.' Then the best thing ever happened, HE KISSED ME!" she squealed flying back on the couch. All of the boys came out of their rooms.

"Kissed you?" They said. The boys have been protective over her since she came to live with us so a boyfriend is a new thing. She smiled shyly.

"Well you better bring this boy over here so junior and i can have a talk." Luke gave her daggers as if to say 'im watching you.' But she just waved him off.

"Hey guys we gotta go." Ashton yelled running downstairs. "Bye Love." He said kissing my temple. He ran out the door the boys following right behind him.

"Bye!" They called out in unision waving at us. Riley and I laughed at them.

"Hey, i have a baby appointment today, want to come?" I asked Riley and she nodded excitedly. I put on my shoes and grabbed my keys. "Ready?" I smiled and she nodded again.

"Ready." She repeated, following me out of the house. While i was driving i let Riley control the aux cord, my mistake. She played every song possible about love. When we finally arrived i immediately unplugged her phone.

"Never again." I laughed. She rolled her eyes and followed me inside.

"Hello Madison, you can go on back Dr. Sanchez isnt seeing anyone." She gave me a warm smile and i thanked her. As we were passing rooms i saw other moms looking bigger than blimps. Its my 4th month being pregnant and i hope i dont get much bigger. Ive always been a smaller person but still. Riley and I sat in the room and she began playing with toys.

"You are aware you'll be 13 in a few days correct." I asked she looked up at me smiling and nodded her head making me laugh.

"Hello, hello." Dr. Sanchez entered. "How are we feeling today?" She pulled out her clipboard.

"We are fine, no morning sickness or anything." I smiled

"Have you been taking the medication?" She asked and i nodded. "Alright then we'll do a quick ultrasound and you can go." She smiled and i layed back.

"Riley come watch this its super cool." I patted a spot next to me. She ran over and sat down. Dr. Sanchez put on the jelly and searched for the babies.

"See your son is growing normally now, here's his head, and his feet." She smiled. I looked over to see a very fascinated Riley. She studied the screen carefully. "You are aware that because its twins you will most likely have a c-section correct." The doctor interupted my thoughts. I nodded my head nervously. "Dont be scarred, its a simple procedure and we have some of the best doctors." She touched my shoulder gently. "You'll be fine." She smiled. "Ill go print off the pictures of the ultrasound." She left the room. I turned to see a confused Riley.

"Whats a c-section?" She asked.

"Well its where instead of the mom pushing the babies out they make a small incision and pull the babies out, its just to help the mom and the babies." I smiled but she looked concerned.

"You'll be okay right?" She asked. I nodded my head and she looked relieved. "Are they moving?" She asked and i nodded again grabbing her hand and placing it on my stomach.

"She's got the hiccups." I smiled. Just then the nurse came back in.

"Here are your ultrasounds." She smiled. "Is this your sister?" She pointed to Riley and i shook my head.

"Cousin." I smiled over at her.

"You look alot alike." She began comparing me and Riley. Causing Riley to smile. "Im sorry but i have to go, i have another appointment, have a nice day and see you next month." She smiled and left the room.

"Ready to go?" I asked Riley who nodded violently. We walked out of the office and to the car. "Why cant you drive yet." I laughed. "That'd be a lot easier on me." I winked starting the car.

"Another 3 years and i got you." She laughed.

"Well hopefully i wont be pregnant in another 3 years." I smiled at her. As much as i love the fact that im going to have 2 beautiful babies, im still young and right now 2 is enough. "So what do you want to do for your birthday?" I asked pulling out of the parking lot. She pondered it for a second.

"Lets go out to eat then a small party at the house?" She smiled hopefully. Rileys lucky self her birthday was on a Saturday this year. "Or we can do the party then go out to eat? Because i want to eat just as a family." She suggested.

"That works." I smiled. I love that she used the word family. She really considers us her family.
