Chapter eleven

Beep! Beep! Beep!

What's going on? Selenva said through a crackled voice, while opening her eyes for what felt like the first time in a decade. The walls were white, there is a curtain hanging up with pictures of dolphins, and the air smelled like medicine. The hospital? What am I doing here? She thought to herself feeling numb. She sat up very slowly looking over at her I.V. cord swaying with her movement. It took her a minute to realize some one was there in the room with her. 

A very attractive...sexy nurse. He had deep blue hospital scrubs on, a very nice body, and a look with concern. Why is he looking at me like that? Do I have something on my face?  She looked at him then asked, “Hey.. Do you know why I’m in here?" He smiled a light warm hearted smile that sent warm sensations down her stomach. That is how she noticed her arms, stomach, and legs had deep purple bruises. What the hell happened? Why can't I remember?

The nurse turned to the door, like he was leaving the room. “Good, you're awake. I'll let your family know." He whispered, already walking out the door. My.. Family? Oh!! Mom! Dad! Shit! They are probably worried sick! She saw them pouring in to the room, surrounding her with worried eyes. I'm in for it now! Mom, Dad, Dallas and Sarah all stood there silent. Sarah was the first to break the silence. "What the hell happened to you? Do you know how fucking worried you have us all!

Dallas came to sit at the foot of the bed placing him between Sarah and her. "What she means to say is.. We are all relived and happy that you have finally woke up." Dallas said apologetically taking her hand for comfort. "No! I meant  exactly what I just said Dallas! Don't sugar coat this up for her! “Sarah yelled through tears, walking over to the other side of the bed to sit next to her. She grabbed Selenva's other hand. She means well, Selenva thought feeling a bit guilty. For what? What happened?

The sexy nurse came back into the room then, "Well if you are all done interrogating her, I can help fill in some of the blanks." He said looking only at Sarah.  Selenva noticed her smile at that with embarrassment. "Selenva, What all do you remember of the events that have taken place tonight?" The nurse asked her sounding curious. What do I remember? Aiden! Aiden! She could hear her subconscious scream. The memories slowly made there way in to her mind.

"I was over at my.....friends apartment....visiting" She stammered, looking down at the Iv. now burning her arm.  "We were just hanging out. I got upset and took off. I fell into the river then without thinking ran into the street. That is all I remember." She explained feeling light headed. "How did I get here?" She asked the sexy nurse. He looked over at her mom and dad when he explained this,” The man that hit you brought you here. The man said there was someone there with you screaming at him to stay away from you. He obviously did not listen. Your friend you said? Do you think that was who the man was talking about?" 

"Yes I know it is." She answered quietly, feeling a sickness coming on. Where is Aiden? Why would he not come too? She asked herself. Looking at Sarah she squeezed her hand tighter. Please don't say anything! She wanted to scream at her. Hoping her expression would help that not come out loud. Sarah smiled innocently saying, " Look Sell.. We already told them about him. We knew you would not want us to lie to them, about where you were, and who you were with. So we didn't." Sarah pulled her hand away, standing up and leaving the room. 

She looked over to Dallas, who was smiling down at her. "Don't be upset with us. We didn't think you would go and get yourself all fucked up...Well not in this way." Dallas said standing up to follow Sarah out the door. What a prick! I know why he did this to! It is Dallas's way of saying I told you so! Fuck! She heard the heart monitor pick up. Her mom came and rubbed her head softly calming her down. "Selenva, you are going to be fine me and your father are not upset with you. You are a adult and make your own decisions. We just want the decisions to be good ones. Okay?" Mom asked smoothly, she leaned down and kissed her face. Her father came next kissing her in the same place. Looking down at he said, “You mean the world to us. Do not think for one second that this is okay. I want to speak with this young man that upset you."
