Making sure my men are informed on their security checks, strolling over to Connor and Dr Page who were trying to figure out what the sun cage has to do with the anomaly but my attention was on the girl with the short brown hair and the sparkling brown eyes leaning against the table staring into space.
Obvious this is the girl Lester warned me about and truth behold she is young early 20's and completely tiny and I do have to admit my curiosity peaked which doesn't happen often when she out of her way to run after Dr Page not caring to wait for us, seeing the panic in her eyes like someone was going to die.
Facing Connor but keeping my eyes on Acacia, seeing she now looking at the anomaly lost in her thoughts.
"What about her" Dr Page tried to whisper to Connor.
And I mean tried to whisper everyone in the room could hear her.
"Who," Connor asked quite loudly only to be hit but Dr Page.
Waiting a minute or two to see if she caught the attention of Acacia.
"Shorty" she quietly said.
"Ahhh Acacia" Connor replied.
"Acacia she was part of the team when we first started with me and Abby before Jenny started to work with us, she was this funny sassy girl but also the most sarcastic person you would meet" Connor started before looking at the girl "but we recently had a colleague who past away that she was close to" pausing as the same sad look came in Connor eyes "she watched him die along with Cutter, those two were the closest to him as they worked with each other for a while" him sighing "Cutter now just daydreams, while Acacia isn't her self now she's quite scary, I've known her since she was sixteen and she's never been like this".
I was unsympathetic about the girl but hearing this I can see why it affected her badly but Connor and Sarah have failed to understand that Acacia has heard the full conversation, now I've understood why Lester was so worried about her?
"Poor girl, she been through so much" Dr Page sympathised.
"Yeah they were close but -"
"Connor!" Acacia growled.
Connor and Dr Page jumped to their feet and spinning to face Acacia both looking guilty more so Connor.
"Aca-" Connor started.
"Don't Connor out of everyone I would aspect you to understand as you are a scientist but no gossip is more important".
All Connor could do was gulp and hang his head in shame while I couldn't help but let out a short laugh.
Connor instantly shot me a look to shut up.
"What's funny Captain" Acacia glared.
"Just that Connor looks like he's going to piss himself" pointing my gun at him.
She smirked back at me "anyway Connor shouldn't you be trying to date this anomaly anyway not gossiping".
"Right" jumping to his feet while sending a final apologetic in Acacia way.
He grabbed a black box before moving it to the floor in front of the anomaly.
"Ok" as he opened the box.
But as soon he opened the box a metal spanner comes flying out heading straight for the anomaly in the sun cage, but it hit one of the statues before continuing through the anomaly causing a large piece of magnetite to hit the floor.
