my eyes widened at the sight. tears were threatening to fall but i don't want anyone to know. who am i kidding, eunjo will probably know sometime soon.
"yoon?" eunjos pleads grew worried. i quickly stuffed the petals into my bag and stood up.
"im okay, i just need some water" she gave me a questioning look but nodded and directed me towards the nearest vending machine, buying me a water bottle.
the boys were still standing outside waiting for us. the dry feeling in my throat came back and i chugged the whole bottle.
"you okay?" haechan put his hand on my shoulder while we started walking. i nodded and asked him if he could give me a piggy back ride.
"you have legs" i pouted and opened my arms. i know he's a sucker when i pout.
"ugh get on" he crouched down and i smiled in victory, climbing onto his back. we caught up with the rest who just smiled at us. hyunjin and eunjo winked at me and i glared back at them.
we entered the cafe and sat on our usual couch. it always gave us the f.r.i.e.n.d.s vibe everytime we came here.
"oh the noisy bunch is back, im assuming you all want the usual?" felix, one of the workers here asked us.
"do we ever get anything else" jeno smiled, felix chuckled and made his way back to the counter. it was pretty empty so he could yell at his coworkers.
"yah chenle, mark. the 7 usuals for our loyal customers"

fortunately we only had that one lecture today, meaning we could go home. the whole time at the cafe, i had to hold back the petals from going everywhere. i ran to the bathroom maybe twice and just played it off with "its shark week"
"yoonhye wanna go to the mall?" she clung onto me while we were leaving campus, but i shook my head no. i had to go doctors and recieve confirmation on what i have even if it was already obvious.
"whyy" she whined and pouted
"i have to go to the hospi- i just want a lazy day" her eyes widened and i mentally cursed myself for the use of words. i definitely just made it sound like i was dying didnt i.
"okay now i have to go with you, you're my best friend. we're literally connected" i sighed but gave in, it would probably be easier with someone by my side anyways. i knew she'd find out soon, but i wasn't expecting it to be this soon
it only started today but i can't do anything by myself, or even keep something to myself. jaemin and jeno caught up with us, giving us quick hugs.
"see you guys tomorrow!" jaemin let go of me and quickly ran away. that same feeling came back in my throat and once they were out of sight i dropped to my knees, not being able to hold it in any longer.
i was coughing hysterically. eunjo dropped beside me but couldn't say anything. her eyes were stuck on the pile of red petals below my head.
"y-you have hanahaki?"
