Early Monday morning Robert was sulking in his office. Why had he not gone inside for that bloody night cap. He must of been a fool not to, Diana looked out of this world and he flat out rejected her. Yep, he was a fool. Hopefully he could make it up to her at lunch.
A few hours later he was turning his computer off when his phone rang.
"Hello, Robert speaking." He said in his formal voice.
"Hey, Robert. It's Diana. I...uh, I can't go out for lunch today." She said quietly, it almost seemed as if it was hard for her to speak.
"Oh. Is there something wrong?" He asked clearly worried. She didn't sound good.
"I...no. I'm having chest pains, I haven't gone into work today." Robert could hear her struggling, why hadn't she come in to see him.
"I'll be right over. Take deep breaths in and out. Try to stay calm." He grabbed his keys and bag and ran out the door. Telling Jane that he was seeing a patient at their home and to refer all his patients to Dr. Grayson for the day. He needed to get to her and soon.
He arrived at his car in less than two minutes, fumbling with his keys whilst trying not to panic.
Once outside her house he ran and knocked on her door. Did she keep a spare key around he thought to himself. Just before he started looking Diana opened the door. God she looked terrible. Her face was pale, her hair was in a messy bun and she hadn't bothered to get changed out of her fully pjs. They had these cute little bunnies on them, but that's not the point Robert he scolded himself.
"Hi." She wheezed, moving to the side to let him in.
Shutting the door behind him, he followed her into the living room and asked her to take a seat while he got his stethoscope out.
"You know the drill Diana, I'm just going to listen to your chest if you could just take your top off." He asked her, this reminded him of when they first met.
"Erm, I can't. I'm not wearing anything underneath..." She said quietly. He couldn't tell if it was because of her chest or because she was embarrassed.
"Err...umm...it's okay. I can just lift it up." He said calmly.
Robert proceeded to lift her fluffy top up, and placed the stethoscope on her back. Goosebumps slightly formed around where he touched her skin and she shivered a little.
"Have you been using your inhaler?" He asked pulling her too down and putting his stethoscope back.
"Oh. I totally forgot I had it." She had been so busy and caught up with Robert this past week she hadn't realised she had it.
"You need to use it Diana or your asthma will get worse. Where is it? I'll go fetch it for you?" Robert stood up ready and she stood up too.
"Robert, it's quite alright. I can get it myself." She began to move when he picked her up with a slight squeak and placed her back on the couch.
"Your not well Diana. Please let me look after you?" She huffed and agreed to let him.
"Fine, it's in the kitchen. First cabinet to the left." Robert made his way to what he assumed was the kitchen.
Grabbing the inhaler, he also wanted to make her a coffee. Maybe even some breakfast. It was a little late for it but it's never too late for pancakes.
"Did you find it yet? You've been in there a while..." Diana shouted in to him, her chest tightening a little from shouting. Maybe she shouldn't do that again she thought.
"Yeah, I'll just be a sec." Robert gathered a tray with a napkin and cutlery.
He flipped the pancake one last time before placing it on the try with the coffee. He didn't really know how she like it so he just winged it. Once he'd finished he proceeded to make his way to Diana.
"Oh Robert, you didn't have to.." She began to speak but Robert shut her up by placing a piece of pancake in her mouth. She stared wide eyed for a moment before chewing and swallowing. Oh that it is good she thought.
"Here, have your inhaler first. Then you can eat." He smiled at her and pinched a bit of the pancake.
Moments later Diana had finished all her pancakes and her coffee. It was usually how she had it but it was a nice change.
"Thank you Robert. That was lovely." She smiled at him and stood up.
"And where do you think you're going?" He stood up now too, déjà vu or what.
"I'm going to take a shower." She looked up at him, God she hadn't realised how small she was compared to him. She was no longer wearing heels of some kind so now she had to really Crain her neck to see him.
"I'll do you one better, sit down and I'll run you a bath." Before she could protest he was already running up the stairs and trying to find the bathroom.
Robert appeared a few minutes later with his suit jacket in his hands, his shirt sleeves rolled back and his tie a little looser.
"Let's get you in that bath." He went over to her and picked her up bridle style. Diana flushed bright pink and hid her face in his neck.
"Robert I can get in myself." Robert clearly wasn't listening as he placed her down on the bathroom floor and began to undo her messy bun letting her hair fall around her face.
"Do you need help getting undressed or can you do it yourself? either way I'm happy to help." He was smirking at her while she was blushing.
"I think I can manage. Thank you." She pushed him to the door and shutting him out sighing against it as she got undressed and into the bath.
Diana was so relaxed and feeling so much better than she did earlier. That inhaler really did help. As she was closing her eyes and enjoying the warmth she fell into a nice peaceful sleep.
Diana had been in the bath for a least three quarters of an hour, he didn't want to bother her but she was being awfully quiet. Walking up the stairs he knocked on the door lightly, saying her name a few times.
"Diana, is everything okay in there?" He knocked again. This time a little harder. Why wasn't she answering him? "Right that's it I'm coming in." He waited a few seconds to see if she would reassure him she was quite alright but no reply yet again.
He opened the door slightly, noticing the bubbles slowing disappearing. She didn't move, she didn't even flinch when he swung the door open and it hit the wall. Fuck he thought. Was she dead? He rang over to her and checked her pulse. Asleep. She was asleep.
"Thank fuck for that." He whispered to himself. Diana moved then and opened her eyes. Shocked to see him there she jumped a mile not realising she was still in the bath. Water went all over Robert and the floor.
Robert didn't really pay attention to that though as she jumped her breasts went with her and he saw her in all her glory. His eyes where wide, fixed on her chest as his pants became uncomfortably tight. Fuck.
Diana was now bright red and trying to cover herself as best she could. Oh god this was embarrassing. Should she say something? Why wasn't he moving?
"I-I I...ummm." That's all he said before he turned around and grabbed her a towel. Holding it up so that she could cover herself.
"Um..thanks." She said not daring to look at him. How could she? Ugh she was acting like no man had ever seen her naked before. She turned around to walk out when Robert grabbed her wrist just in time.
"Hey, I know you're embarrassed. Don't be. I liked what I saw." He said looking down at her, he lifted her chin up so she would look at him.
She licked her bottom lip ever so slightly, Robert couldn't hold back anymore as his lips made their way to hers. He was hungry and she was struggling to keep up with his fast movements. He backed her into the wall and held her hands over her head, he kept them there with one hand while the other went down to her where her towel was tied as he began to pull making it pool around her feet. Leaving Diana completely naked.
