Chapter 20

Will was very glad that Nico had let it go. He was glad Nico felt that safe with him. He cradled the boy in his arms, just watching his sleeping face. He would have left; he didn't want to seem creepy. But he knew that more likely than not Nico would have another nightmare.

Surprisingly, Nico didn't. Dreamless sleep the entire time. For once, Hypnos must've taken mercy on him. A few hours later, Nico woke up, still drowsy, snuggling into his boyfriend sleepily.

Will was lightly dozing, his arms wrapped around Nico. He felt him stir, and sat up.

"Hey. Do you feel better?"

Nico pressed his face into Will's chest and nodded. Will giggled and kissed his head.

Nico smiled shyly, looking up at Will with a gleam in his eyes. "I love you..." he whispered, pressing his forehead to the blond's.

Will closed his eyes. He loved these moments. "I love you more."

He knew that that would spark a war, but he didn't care. He liked his playful arguments with Nico. The other boy grinned, firing back with, "Not possible, Sunshine."

Will smiled. He pecked Nico on the lips. "I think it is possible, and you just don't want to admit it."

Nico raised an eyebrow. "You wanna go there?" Will nodded.

"I do. Because I am stronger than you, and less ticklish."

Nico's eyes widened, and he backed away from Will, who was advancing with an evil smile on his face. "No, Will-"

He scrambled away, as Will jumped at him, going to tickle his ribs. The small goth boy ran into a shadow on the wall, appearing behind the son of Apollo, hoping he wouldn't notice him.

Will stood, standing silently and poised to attack. He heard a soft breath behind him.

He whipped around, tackling Nico to the ground. "If you keep breaking my two weeks rule, I'm going to trap you in my cabin, where shadows are nonexistent."

He saw Nico relax slightly. He probably thought he had forgotten the tickling. He hadn't.

"And as your punishment..." Will attacked Nico's sides, the smaller boy shrieking and writhing away from him. Nico was squirming and kicking, fighting for air in short gasps between shrieks of laughter.

"W-Will!" he yelped. "I-I can't- I c-can't breathe!"

Will giggled and slowly stopped, letting Nico catch his breath. "That'll teach you to shadow travel without medical approval."

He helped Nico up. "Breakfast?"

Nico nodded, and the two walked off to the dining pavilion, both smiling like the sun.
