Smile Like The Sun [COMPLETED]

Chapter 4

"I like you too... but I don't get why you like me in the first place. You could ask anyone in camp and they'd say I'm just the Hades freak. Dangerous. I'm not good enough. And all those things you said about me... they're just not true..." he confessed, turning his head away, only to feel a firm hand gently redirect his gaze back to its owner. Will.

He was looking at him, in that way. The way that made him melt like putty. The way... the way that was special, but he wasn't sure why. Then it hit him. Love. That's what made it special. Will was looking at him with love in his eyes.

He was practically glowing, which was usually an Apollo trait, not a Hades one. But this was definitely an exception.

Will gazed at Nico. This amazing, beautiful idiot.

"Nico..." the boy's eyes flickered to his own. "You are all those things, even if you can't see it. You're perfect to me. Not everyone thinks you're the Hades freak. You have friends. You have me." He leaned closer. "You deserve love, even if you don't believe that."

Nico's eyes stayed trained on Will's, completely lovesick. This crazy, wonderful boy was willing to give him another chance, despite his reputation. He believed in him.

Will... he loved him, just as much as Nico loved him in return. And that meant absolutely everything to the smaller boy. To have someone who looked past his parentage, and saw him as an individual. Not many people had done that for him.

And for the second time that day, Nico let one of his rare smiles slip. You could ask most of his friends, and they would say they hadn't seen Nico smile, Reyna, Percy, and Hazel being the exceptions.

Will grinned as he saw the smile he loved come out again.

"Nico. Can I..." He stared into the boys eyes, hoping for a yes. His hand was on Nico's arm again, and he had subconsciously leaned closer to him.

Nico flushed, extremely flustered. Will had leaned in to the point where he could feel his breath on his own cheek. He gently brought Will's hand's into his own, intertwining their finger and whispering a quiet, "yes..."

Will smiled softly and pushed forward, laying a soft kiss on Nico's lips. He felt Nico respond, and smiled into the kiss.

This was perfection. This moment, right here, right now.

Nico let out a contented sight, quickly melting into Will, softly kissing back. After a moment, he gently pulled away, a happy smile pressed into his lips.

"We should head back soon. It's almost curfew."

Will sat dazed for a moment, before nodding. He had a lovesick grin on his face.

"Ok. I'll walk you."

Nico smiled. "That would be nice."

Nico took Will's hand, pulling them both to their feet, gazing at the taller boy, completely in love.

Will squeezed Nico's hand and they walked towards the Hades cabin. They reached the door, and Will stopped Nico.

He had hope in his eyes. "What are we?"

Nico smiled, flushing pink.

"I don't know... do you wanna decide...?" he asked quietly, a sliver of hope shining in his eyes.

Will felt his stomach butterflies wake up again.

"I was hoping... boyfriends?

He smiled shyly, his thin figure subconsciously moving a little closer to Will.

"I'd like that..." he said softly.

Will grinned. He leaned closer and looked at Nico for confirmation. He nodded, and Will kissed him again. This one was shorter, but nonetheless satisfying. Will opened the door to the cabin.

He walked in, stopping in the door frame to face Will.

"Goodnight..." he smiled.

Will squeezed his hand one last time.

"Goodnight... love." He smiled at Nico's blush, and stood for a few moments, a lovesick grin on his face once the door closed. Then he sprinted off to his own cabin, not seeing the Aphrodite kids passing around drachmas and smiling as he ran by.
