Escaping the million and one questions that Ann had planned was no small feat. Luckily for Saint the sound of Mia bounding down the stairs was enough to distract Ann and allow him to retain his sanity. "Daddy daddy daddy are we gonna go shopping for my bird day." Chuckling at her mispronounciation Saint corrected her "It's BIRTH day sweetie not BIRD day." Pouting and crossing her arms she responded "But Uncle P said it was the day I hatched, so I could say Bird day." As if right of cue, Perth walks in the door with a drink holder in one hand and a bakery bag in the other. All eyes turn to the new arrival with looks of accusation. "Ummm, ok whatever it is, either I didn't do it or I can explain." He said without breaking his stride. "Uncle P YOU DID DO IT!" Mia said as she marched up to Perth just as he set his offerings on the counter. Turning around to pick up his pouty God daughter Perth said "Well if my ladybug princess said I did it then I guess I must of done it." Glancing between a giggling Ann and Saint, Perth asked "So what exactly did I do this time." "Apparently you told Mia she was HATCHED and could refer to her birthday as her BIRD day." Saint said placing his hands on his hips and tapping his foot as Perth desperately tried not to laugh at the situation. "Ummm oops! Ok, Yes I did say that but it was just a little joke. Mia, help Uncle P out here tell Daddy and Aunty Ann that we were just playing around. You know you weren't hatched." Grinning an evil little grin, the soon to be six year old motioned for Perth to come closer so she could whisper in his ear. "I want a pony at my party!" She said holding up her pinky for a promise. Shocked by her obvious bribe but also secretly impressed Perth smiled and gripped her tiny finger with his own. Then turning toward Saint and Ann Mia announced she was just playing she knew it was just for fun. Mia then skipped off in search of her tiara. Having heard the exchange, Ann and Saint broke out into a fit of laughter. "Oh brother you got yourself into it this time. Where the hell are you gonna find a pony in a week?" Ann asked as she started to regain her composure. Saint was wiping away the tears that had fallen from laughing so hard. "I should be upset at the fact that she manipulated you into that position, but honestly man, you kinda deserved it. When you find this pony, make sure it comes with it's own pooper scooper." Still laughing Saint and Ann turned to grab a coffee and pastry from the bag. "Wait 'pooper scooper' is that like a job title?" Perth said grabing the last coffee while chuckling at his own humor. Joining his sister and Saint on the couch, Perth inquired "So what's the plan for today? Do we even have a plan or are we going with the usual and just flying by the seat of our pants." Turning to look at his scatterbrained friend, Saint said "I swear sometimes it amazes me you are the same man that successfully runs our business. We discussed this 2 days ago in the office, I saw you typing notes in your phone." Perth smiled before looking slightly embarrassed "Ummm I could possibly have been texting Earth about our date yesterday and completely ignored everything you said about this, sorry." Ann chimed in saying to Saint, "Why are you even surprised by that, this is my brother we're talking about, he's got the attention span of a gnat unless it's making him money or making him cu..." Perth slapped his hand over Ann's mouth before she could finish that sentence. "Okay, why don't we just agree that I'm not always the most attentive person and leave it at that." He said glaring at his still gaged sibling. Releasing her and moving out of her range before she could swing, Perth took a seat near Saint before turning to stick his tongue out at Ann. "You guys need to get the decorations and party supplies while I take Mia to the cake shop to pick which one she wants." Said Saint just as the excited little girl came running into the room wearing her tiara. "Well Hello your Majesty. Are you ready to pick out your cake?" Saint asked scooping her into his arms and kissing her cheeks. "Yes Daddy! I wanna taste ALL the flavors!" She answered clapping her hands. "Ok we'll see about that little lady." He said as he grabbed his train pass and house keys. "I'll text you when we pick the cake theme." Saint said over his shoulder as he headed to the door. Mia ran up to Perth and Ann hugging their legs before running after Saint "Bye Uncle P, bye Auntie Ann see ya later, love you." Laughing at the little girl who had effectively taken over their lives since her birth, the siblings headed out to Perths car to begin their Bird day supply hunt. The cake shop was only a few blocks from the train station and the weather was nice so Saint and Mia decided to walk. The shop was known for its artistic themes and innovative designs. It had been featured on a cooking show about Princess Cakes and Mia was excited to taste all the "pretty treats" she had seen on TV. When they arrived they were not disappointed.
