"Hurry up, dad. We're going to be late". Jules crossed his arms over his chest while he watched his father rush through his bedroom to find the right tie. "I'm coming, okay?". Charles replied as he hurried to put the tie around his neck and adjust it neatly enough to look presentable at the primary school of his son. Charles had promised to take him to school this morning, however last night had been a late one and he had slept through his alarm till Jules was pulling on his arm to get him out of bed. Charles ran a hand through his hair and decided it was good enough to take his son to school. "Let's go, do you have your lunch?". Charles asked and Jules rolled his eyes. "Of course I have, Ms. Pelletier prepared it for me". Charles hummed in response as he remembered the maid from the kitchen staff. "Now it's enough with that tone, alright? I'm sorry I'm late and I apologized already". Charles calmly, yet sternly said.
Jules nodded slowly and had a gentle pink blush on his cheeks while they made their way downstairs. Pierre was waiting for them with a bouquet of flowers. "Thanks, Pierre". Charles said and took the flowers from him. "These are for Ms. Hinds. Can you give them to her?". He asked Jules. "Shouldn't you give them?". Pierre suggested, his eyebrow cocking upwards with a grin. "I think so too, dad". Jules giggled and Charles looked between the both, then at his watch and just kept the flowers in his hand. "Fine". He grumbled and walked out of the door with the keys of his car in his other hand. Jules jumped in on the passenger's side and held the flowers while Charles drove him to school. They were just in time as class was about to start. Joanne had left the door open for the kids who were a little later and she had noticed Jules was one of them. Liam was patiently waiting for his friend to arrive and kept his seat next to him available.
"Ms. Hinds!". Jules waved as he came up to her from the hallway. Joanne smiled. "Good morning, are you ready for class?". She asked, ruffling his hair as he walked past her with a large grin. "Yes!". He yelled back on his way to Liam. Joanne leaned against the doorway and was met with Charles and the rather large bouquet of flowers. "Hi". He said with a small smile. "These are for you. To bring a little bit of Spring to your desk". He added quickly. Her smile widened. "They are gorgeous". Joanne took the flowers from him, briefly looking at the different colours and forms of the flowers. "Thank you so much". She said, looking back up at him. "You're welcome". Charles said and he wished he could've taken a picture of her looking at him while she had the flowers in her hand. They seemed to brighten her up even more, as if the colours of the flowers automatically attracted her. "I'm sorry I was late". Charles said next. "You were just in time". Joanne let out a soft laugh.
"I just ehm...". Charles felt his heart palpitating more rapidly at the sentence he wanted to form in his head. "I haven't seen or contacted you the whole week so far, so I wanted to show up and then I overslept". Charles rolled his eyes at himself and Joanne nearly couldn't believe it that he, the mobster, let out a nervous laugh. "It's fine, don't worry about it. We were going to see each other tomorrow anyway". She said, her eyes gliding over her handsome features. "Right". Charles nodded, pushing his hands in the pockets of his slacks. "My driver will pick you up at seven, will that be alright?". He asked and she nodded. "Of course, we'll make sure to be ready by then. Liam can't stop talking about it ever since it's on the agenda". Joanne giggled and Charles let out a breathy laugh. "I hope it will be fun for him then". He said next. "I have to get to class now". Joanne said and stood up straight. "I won't occupy you any further then". Charles said and gave her a small smile again.
"See you tomorrow". Joanne nodded and watched him walk away. She closed the door and took the flowers to her desk. "Look at these beautiful flowers!". She said to gather the attention of the kids. "I'm sure someone here wants to go to the closet and pick out a nice vase". Joanne smiled when the hands rose in the air. "Alright, Amelie, you can choose one". Joanne unlocked the closet in the corner of the room and the girl got up from her chair. "I choose the pink one". She smiled shyly and Joanne took the pink vase from the top shelf. Joanne put some water in it and then took the plastic from around the bouquet to put the flowers in water. "Alright. Now, let's open our drawers and get the writing exercises". Joanne said as she sat down behind her desk, a smile still on her face when she looked at the flowers Charles had gifted her.
