Joanne looked at Charles while he was still asleep. The morning had arrived in Geneva, the sun rising above the horizon and showing off it's orange and deep red colours, which managed to peep through the light curtains of their room. Joanne pulled the duvet of the bed higher up her body, his warm embrace comforting against her chilly body. The movements in the bed caused Charles to wake from his slumber and he was briefly annoyed that it had to be so early, however the frown disappeared from his face as soon as he looked into Joanne's deep brown hues. A small smile curled his plump lips and a sleepy looked returned to his features. "Mon amour". His voice was hoarse, heavy with sleep when he pulled her a little closer, enjoying the time with her under the warm duvet. They had to leave after breakfast and although their trip to Geneva had been short, he had liked it a lot and he sensed Joanne did too. Charles' fingers brushed over the back of her thighs, slowly trailing up to her hip and her waist, rising the material of her shirt.
Joanne smiled at him when he rubbed soft circles into her lower abdomen, right where the baby was growing. He couldn't help it but return his touch to that place all the time. He couldn't wait till he could feel the first kick or slightest movement of their baby. "We should start assigning a room for the baby in the house". Charles muttered, his eyelids still feeling heavy. "Already?". Joanne replied with a chuckle. "Just to be prepared". He shrugged, making the both of them laugh softly. "It's a little early, don't you think?". Joanne said and he hummed in agreement eventually. "We should go out for breakfast, see Geneva for a bit". Charles said as he changed the subject, propping himself up on his elbow as he looked down at her. Joanne folded her arm underneath her head. "Sure, I'm fine with it". She said and he nodded, caressing her face before pressing a kiss to her temple. "I'll take a shower, you can rest for a bit". Charles hummed and she contently let herself sink further into the pillows. He had a loving gaze in his eyes when he went for another kiss on her lips, gently pulling the sheets away and lifting her shirt some more to kiss her stomach.
Joanne felt her heart skipping a beat at the moment and he got up to get into the bathroom afterwards, making her fall back into bed with a smile. She pulled the sheets back up to her chin and she drifted away for a couple minutes more. Charles woke her after an hour, he was all dressed already and waited for her to get ready as well. The morning air was fresh and it made her put on some jeans, high booths and a knitted sweater to wear. She hadn't washed her hair in the shower, so she put it up in a ponytail as she gathered her stuff from the hotel bathroom to put in her bag again. She didn't carry a lot of luggage for the short trip anyway. "Ready?". Charles asked and she nodded, about to reach for her bag when Charles already got it. She chuckled and shook her head with a smile, leaving him be as she locked the room behind them and held the key to deliver at the desk at the entrance of the hotel. They went down with the elevator and checked out, getting outside where a car was ready. Sebastian had arranged the car that could take them to the historic city center, where they could spend some time before Charles' jet would fly them back.
Charles had done some research while Joanne was still asleep and he had found a cute restaurant. He was sure Joanne was going to love the place. The driver dropped them off as Sebastian had asked them to do and he would wait for them while they were going to eat a bit. Charles' hand found hers as soon as they walked next to each other and they smiled at each other while their fingers entwined. "Geneva is really beautiful". Joanne spoke. "Maybe it's nice to spend a weekend here with the kids". She added. "Of course, we can plan that in their All Saints holidays in October, they won't have school then". Charles said right away and held the door of the restaurant open when they arrived. They picked a table for two and the warm air of the restaurant caused a blush to show up on her cheeks. Charles was lost for words when he looked at her for a second, feeling more happy with her every day. There was no one else but her and the kids who made him this happy.
