"Thank you, Celia". Joanne smiled gently at the maid, who gave her a shy smile in response when she took the plates. Charles nodded at his staff, satisfied as he leaned back in his chair. The table was cleared after dinner, they had cooked something Italian and Joanne had loved it. She was glad she was wearing loose clothing, because she felt like she could burst any second. Charles' hand brushed over hers across the table, the kids seated on the other side of them. She glared over at Charles, a smile lingering on her lips as Liam and Jules had been quiet and patient all dinner to get to know if they would get a brother or a sister. Charles smiled back at Joanne. "So, guys...". Joanne started. "Finally!". Jules cheered, making the couple laugh. "In a couple months time you will have a baby sister". Charles finished. "I hoped for a girl". Liam said, beaming in his seat. "I didn't mind!". Jules added. "As long as she's nice". He said.
"The doctor thinks the baby will come in April next year. You're a little bit older then too". Charles spoke to them. "You'll be the men of the house as well". Joanne suppressed her laugh by seeing the proud looks on their faces. "I expect you to think about your baby sister and feel a little responsible then. We're going to take good care of her, all of us". They nodded seriously. "What's going to be her name?". Liam asked curiously. "We don't know yet, but if you think of a beautiful name we can always consider it". Joanne said and they nodded once more. "Then we had another thing". Charles started. "You have another baby?". Jules asked with wide eyes, which caused them to laugh and Joanne shook her head. "No, there's only one baby". Joanne confirmed. "Liam, you know I am not your biological father". He said and Liam looked at him with a slight frown on his face. "I know, my real father is not here". He said. "I know". Charles chuckled softly. "But your mother and I spoke about it, that I want to be your father. I love you like my son". Liam had a smile on his face. "You want to be my dad?". He asked and Charles nodded. "I do". Charles smiled as well.
"Legally, it can take a little while though. The government of Monaco has to overlook the situation and you have to agree that you want me to become your real dad". Charles tried to explain as simple as he could. "You can think about it for a couple days if you want to, honey. It's quite a big step. You're not bound to your real dad in any kind of way after that". Joanne added. "Charles has to ask if he can adopt you". She explained next. "But I don't even know my dad". Liam said, looking over at his mother. "Charles is my dad". He said next, making Charles feel warm inside at the words of the young boy. "Will he become my brother then?". Jules asked. "Yes, he will". Charles nodded. The two kids beamed at each other, finally they would be family, although they already felt like they were brothers. "Cool". Liam nodded happily. "I don't have to think about it". Liam said then, turning to his mother. "I want Charles as my dad". He said and Charles. "But I want Joanne as my mom!". Jules suddenly interrupted them. "You want me to be your mother?". Joanne asked gently. "Yes, then we're really brothers". He heavily nodded. "If that's what you want, we'll get everything arranged". Charles said, his hand moving to squeeze Joanne her arm.
"Can we go upstairs now? Pierre promised to watch Spiderman with us". Liam bounced on his chair and they both laughed, they had lost count how many times Pierre needed to watch Spiderman with the boys. "After a big hug you can go". The boys got up from their chairs and walked around the table to settled between their parents. The family got together and they tightly hugged each other. Charles kissed their temples before they were let loose and they rushed upstairs. They stood up as well and Charles pulled her close against his chest. Her arms swung loosely around his neck and they kissed slowly. Charles parted from her to look down at her baby bump, a smile automatically curling his lips. "I'm going to call Francesca now". Joanne announced, feeling her heartbeat beat slightly quicker. "Of course". Charles nodded, clearing his throat as he stepped away from her. "I'll be in the living room". He said to give her some space. Joanne nodded and leaned back against the table, taking her phone in her hand. She scrolled through her contacts and dialled her friends number, hoping she'd pick up the phone. Joanne felt relieved that Francesca answered the call next.
