Gerard's POV:
The school bell has just rung, signaling the beginning of 7th period, the last period of the school day. I walk into the class, saying my usual good afternoon to them, before sitting at my desk. I look up for just a split second and–oh. My. God. I see her. That girl. I just know it's going to be her. I just immediately know. She's my mate...the one who I'll be with forever. I don't even really know what it is about her, her thick black hair with the heavy side-swept bangs, he soft face, her eyes outlined in thick black eyeliner, the black Misfits T-shirt (she obviously has a good taste in music as well), the way she's staring at me right now–oh, yikes. She sees me. That's awkward. I quickly go back to looking at the class and introduce myself, as well as telling them how they've probably had my younger brother Mikey as a teacher before, as he's already been teaching at this school for a few years before I started this year.
You're probably wondering about the whole mini freak out I had over seeing that one girl in my class. Well, to be brutally honest first, I'm a vampire. Yes, you heard that right. And basically, the way it works for us vampires is that we have a certain human who we are destined to be with, called our "mate". It's a really stupid word, I know, but hey, I'm not the one who made it up. The way we know when a human is our mate is when we are immediately attracted to them the very first time we see them. Yes, it's like a "love at first sight" kind of thing, if you want to make it sound cute. After that, we start talking to them and hanging out with them, to get to know each other, but mostly to really make sure they're the right one. Eventually, we have to turn them into a vampire as well, by biting them, draining a pretty decent amount of their blood, and then feeding them some of our blood. During this whole time period of finding our mate, from the time we first lay eyes on them to the day we turn them, we are extremely protective of them, not letting any other vampires hurt them, or even get near them. I just know this girl is it, I want to know all about her already. I have an idea: I'll do that thing that teachers do on the first day, where they go around the room and make all the students say their names and something about themselves, I know they always hate doing that, but honestly, I could care less about the 20 or so other people in this class. I just want to know about her...
I start at the very first desk in the front, and just go around the room in order, hearing all the students say their first names and something supposedly interesting about themselves, even though so far they've all been pretty boring and typical for what you would expect from high schoolers. However, the boy sitting next to that girl had a pretty interesting thing to say.
"I'm Frank, and I scream and play guitar," he says. I can't help but laugh a little at his answer, but I'm also really intrigued. I've always wanted to be in a rock band, so I decide to ask him something more.
"That's cool, what kind of songs do you play?" I ask.
"Basically, if it's any kind of rock, alternative, punk, whatever, I can play it." Frank says.
Wow. He even plays the same kind of music that I want to and like. But anyway, the moment of truth has come: it's that girl's turn to speak.
"And the young lady next to Frank?" I ask. I figured she deserves a little introduction. She seems quite nervous and shy as she starts to talk.
"Uh, I'm V-Victoria, and I um...I...really...like vampires," she stutters.
Woah, wait...what? What?! WHAT!? She WHAT?! She really likes vampires?! Did I actually hear her right or am I dreaming?! Is this why I automatically knew she was my mate when I first saw her? Did I somehow unknowingly sense her love for vampires at that moment? Ok...well, this is amazing. Wait til she finds out that I am one...
I don't even try to hide my excitement. I can feel that my eyes are wide and I'm grinning more than I probably ever have at this girl, Victoria...I hope I'm not creeping her out or anything. Although I want her to find out eventually that I'm a vampire, I don't want her to know just yet, so I'm glad that she's sitting in the back of the room where she can't see my fangs. I know they're definitely showing right now with how big I'm smiling...
"Really? That's interesting." I say to her, which I feel is a good thing to say to hint to her that I am one, without being too obvious. I think she gets the hint because she gives a nervous, little closed mouth smile, before I decide to move onto the next student. Before I know it, we're finally finished, and I say yet another statement to finish the class, but also to hint to that Victoria girl what I'm getting at...
"Well class, I think that was fun. I've started to learn your names, and I've learned some cool things about all of you." As soon as I say this, I look back at Victoria, smiling at her again. Her eyes go slightly wide and she looks shocked. Maybe I am creeping her out a little, but I guess in the end it works. She obviously suspects something, and the more suspicious she gets, the sooner she will find out what I really am. That's exactly what I want. I just need to throw out little hints every class period, just still being a little careful not to completely overdo them. I can't wait to officially make her my mate.
I'll see you soon, Victoria...
(A/N): dun...dun...DUN!!! Lol, I really loved writing this chapter, it was a lot of fun to get in a POV from someone other than Victoria, and especially from Gerard. Well, to conclude this note, Victoria obviously has a big surprise coming to her, so...stay tuned!
